Part One: What We Have Left to See

We're halfway through the season already, guys! And as has already been pointed out in the comments, we're going into the second half almost completely blind. Let's recap what we have left to see from the trailers, courtesy of this tumblr post:

I think Tarrlok is going to make a power grab and try to get rid of her to take control of the Metalbending police. Obviously the consequences for all of them are going to be rather severe.

Will Lin face serious repercussions for agreeing to take responsibility for the arena's security and then failing to stop Amon?

I don't know, I can see Tarrlok using it as a way to get his task force more power, but seeing as Lin has had a flawless track record up until the attack on the arena, her being severely punished would seem kind of dumb, especially considering nobody died or anything.

I think that if Tarrlok makes a convincing case that he's a better leader to respond to the Amon threat bc of his task force and the fact that he has the Council completely whipped save Tenzin, I could see him ousting Lin and taking position as the head of the police.

Ugh IA about the council, like seriously the only one who seems to give a damn about anything is Tenzin.

It's like they don't even know what the fuck they're doing. "OH GOD WHY AM I HERE THIS MAKES NO SENSE WHAT DO I DO - oh wait look Tarrlok's raising his hand I guess I should too"

LOL, agreed, that's exactly what it seems like.

I saw a comment somewhere wondering if Tarrlok had scandalous photos of the other three council members, since they seem to have no backbone whatsoever. I had to laugh out loud at how true it was. Those meetings must be so ridiculous to sit through.

I think Tarrlok can make enough of a stink, and the council, if they're all benders, will probably be sufficiently scared to hand over protection to anyone who's shown some sort of prowess at it (Lin - 0 due to the arena mishap, Tarrlok - 1 for breaking up the chi blocker camp). People in fear can do some stupid, impulsive things. Plus, this opens up Lin to help the FF group/Korra, et al with prepping to go after Amon.

Yeah, even though I speculated that that might be the Satos' motivation, I really hope it isn't because it is super cliche.
