How do you think the wizarding world felt about
Homosexuality

Jo really didn't go into that aspect much, except for saying that Dumbledore was gay, AFTER the series ended but whatever.
How do YOU feel they viewed it?
Which characters do you think were gay/lesbian/bi/pi/trans etc?

I think the wizarding world would be like how it is in real life. Some people are okay with it, some are homophobes, etc.

As for who I think is gay...no idear. I dont really ship anyone so I don't get into the whole sirius/remus, arthur/george (ummm EW), twincest, drarry, etc etc etc.

From the PotterCast Jo interview in 2007:

MA: We wanna talk about Dumbledore so bad. We know that you've created worldwide intrigue when you said that he is gay. But I wanted to ask you about homosexuality in the Wizarding World in general. Is it a taboo?

JKR: Now, that's something I never thought of. I would think that that would be-- it would be exactly what it is in the Muggle World. But the greatest taboo in the Wizarding World is, well, for some wizards... I mean if we're talking about prejudiced people within the Wizarding World, what they care most about is your blood status. So I think you could be, um, gay, pure-blood, and totally without any kind of criticism from the Lucius Malfoys of the world. I don't think that would be something that would interest him in the slightest. But, you know, I can't answer for all witches and wizards because I think in matters of the heart, it would be directly parallel to our world.

I'm sure Lucius Malfoy had his fun back in the day. =P
I have the feeling that pure blood families would be quite lax about the matter, sexual orientation ISN'T something that interests them, but eventually would settle down and marry a woman and have kids, etc.

Yes, for some reason I believe pureblood families would be the least judgmental when it comes to that.

I think, maybe, because there aren't many of them. The dating pool is limited, so it's probably ok to "mingle" before they settle down...

Except for Dumbledore, I can't think of any obvious gay characters and quite frankly in my opinion, it's not an important trait to begin with. What I like about Dumbledore is that his sexuality was never a big deal in the books, and neither was anyone else's because it never should be.
Sorry, but many people in various fandoms, including HP, just have a weird tendency of finding ~gay subtext~ when there isn't any, it's something that I don't understand but I guess that's okay.

Didn't JKR say at one point that the general consensus on homosexuality in WW is pretty much the same as in our world? Sounds pretty logical to me.
This perhaps sounds pretty horrible, but I think if wizards would disapprove of same sex relationships it'd be because those relationships don't produce children, and I see the whole ~let's pass these magical genes on~ deal pretty important for many wizards, especially blood purists. Did even make sense lol...

yeah it did. I wrote pretty much the same thing below.

...although it's not a guarantee, because pureblood families can still produce Squibs, but they can just disown said kids after the fact anyway.

Yeah, you're right about squibs. But I think they're pretty rare and I think it's highly unlikely that if you had more than one kid they'd all be squibs? ... is squib-ness a genetic thing? Hmm!

Maybe Madam Hooch is gay, but that could just be the whole "lesbian PE teacher" vibe talking. I'm not sure if Grindelwald returned Dumbledore's feelings or not; for some reason that seemed like a one-sided crush/love to me.

I'm sure Grindewald thought along the lines of 'I'll let him blow me so I can manipulate him more easily'. Although him not telling Voldemort that Dumbledore had the Elder Wand in DH was amazing, so maybe he DID have some feelings for him after all, IDK. So pissed they changed that in the movie :(

I've seen at least one portrayal of her as an evil lesbian, laden with as many unfortunate implications as you'd expect and probably inspired by the lesbian PE teacher stereotype.
