the email to validate your account actually did say "Please be quick because places are going to be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis*."

but idk, the asterisk links to the terms & conditions...don't know what it says there

i thought that just meant it was first come first serve to actually be in the 1,000,000 beta users at that point. i don't think i saw anything that said beta people would be let in by order of validation.

hm, yeah. i think people took it in different ways. i looked at the magical quill conditions again

"By participating in this Promotion, we do not guarantee you early access to Pottermore. We will allocate places for early access to registrants on a ‘first come, first served’ basis provided that there will be a limit on the allocation of places by language. We do this so that we can better test the early version of Pottermore across the full range of languages that we cater for on Pottermore."

to me, that sounds like people WERE let in on a 'first come, first served" basis but the limits on the allocation of places by language shifted when people were getting their emails.

so basically pottermore doesn't care to test me rn because they have enough americans.

ohhhh that actually makes sense. i'm sure there are a high percentage of english speaking users who signed up, which explains why so many people here aren't on it yet.

yeah, i'm actually glad i read that now because it makes me feel better about being a squib. i just thought they were letting people in randomly, but there's actually some logic to their madness...
