Girl, I don't blame you...have you started watching it already?

I got mine on Christmas years ago and I still cherish it. I've only done one full re-watch so far. I had been sick and bed-ridden at the time, so I pretty much just went through the whole series on my laptop while guzzling orange juice and going through boxes of tissues.

I cringe at the early episodes because of that! I got into the series when it was already syndicated so I had been watching it out of order, so seeing the early episodes for the first time was jarring, for me. I was all like, "Carrie used to smoke?" and "I'm glad this Skipper dude is gone."

A little late on this, but! I love the first season. I just wrote an essay that compared the first season SatC to Anita Loos's Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and argued that having Carrie address the audience allowed her to challenge the gaze of the audience. /csb
