“I’m going this way. Well, I’ll . . . I’ll see you around, Harry.” “Yeah . . . see you.” She smiled at him and departed. He walked on, feeling quietly elated. He had managed to have an entire conversation with her and not embarrassed himself once. . . . You were really brave standing up to her like that. . . . She had called him brave. . . . She did not hate him for being alive. . . .
and then this bit immediately after
“Morning,” Harry said brightly to Ron and Hermione, joining them at the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall. “What are you looking so pleased about?” said Ron, eyeing Harry in surprise. “Erm . . . Quidditch later,” said Harry happily, pulling a large platter of bacon and eggs toward him.
it's really morbid, like i feel so bad for him throughout the entire thing but esp this bit
"Harry left her office without a word. The school was quite deserted; it was surely past midnight. He walked slowly up the corridor then, when he had turned the corner and was sure that she would not hear him, broke into a run."
idk just the fact that he felt compelled to wait a certain distance before he ran makes me want to give him a hug lol
like i'm overprotective of harry so his letter always annoys me but at the same time i understand it too since like he was never close to harry to start with so why would he believe him etc especially when he has no reason to suspect the ministry and prophet would lie to him and hold a smear campaign against a 15yo
idk idk i feel like percy should trust his brother's judgment they've been bffls for like 4 years and it's not like harry's done anything to make percy not trust him. i just really don't like percy lol
