On FOX, American Idol earned a 4.5, down seven tenths from last week's 5.2 adults 18-49 rating. Glee scored a 2.1, down half a ratings point from last week's 2.6

exactly. they're doomed and any positive variation in ratings is due to coincidence or extreme fan pandering that makes people who'd given up on the show tune in again for a specific ep.

I do kind of pity the FOX executives. It must be frustrating to have a huge hit that is completely derailed by its own creators.
