Glee quickly became a pop culture phenom back in 2009, and with each episode, Gleeks can expect to learn an important lesson from the cast of characters. Celebuzz recently caught up with Lauren Potter - who plays Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch)’s sidekick, Becky Jackson - and she wasn't shy about opening up about her time on the show, working with Lynch and her hopes to sing on the show one day.

Like her pivotal character on Glee, Potter has Down syndrome and hopes fans can learn from her character. "I hope they see that a girl with down syndrome can do anything she puts her mind to," she told us. She continues:

"I want people to know that Becky and I have feelings. We just want to be included."

Fans were first introduced to Potter's character in season one in an episode titled "Wheels." Since her rise to popularity, many things have changed for her on the show. "I've gotten to be a better actress," she dishes. "They are giving me a bigger part. I have so much fun when I get to do comedy."

The actress, who works the closest with Lynch, couldn't contain her glowing reviews of her mentor, saying:

"I love Jane so much. Jane is so wonderful and funny. She really helped me a lot, and I love working with her."

Although Lauren might not be breaking out a club track anytime soon, she certainly wants to give it a shot. "My mom always says, 'You're a good dancer. You're a good actress, but honey, you don't sing that good,'" she laughs.

In addition to filiming Glee, Lauren is also hard at work with the Edward Norton’s CrowdRise campaign - in conjunction with iPads for Autism - with her former school. The program is designed to assist teachers in utilizing iPad technology to help students with autism to learn. "It's an amazing program, and I'm trying to help them like they helped me," she says.
