Roseanne Barr's new NBC pilot has cast Romy Rosemont and Mary Birdsong.

Downwardly Mobile will star Barr as Rose, the owner of a mobile home park who acts as a surrogate mother to her residents.

Rosemont - known for playing Finn's mother on Glee - will portray one of the residents, nursing home worker Sheila, according to Deadline.

The actress recently made guest appearances on Fringe and CSI: Miami and also starred opposite Rob Lowe in Lifetime TV movie Drew Peterson: Untouchable.

The Descendants star Birdsong has been cast as Kathie Lee, the "trailer trash" boss at the park's pizza and beer joint. Her past credits include 2010 film Killers and Comedy Central's Reno 911!.

John Goodman - who appeared in Barr's sitcom Roseanne between 1988 and 1997 - previously joined Downwardly Mobile as Rose's friend and co-worker.

The pilot was co-created by Barr, her boyfriend John Argent and showrunner Eric Gilliland (That '70s Show).
