I have the feeling that promises were made, have not been kept, and contract extensions wouldn't have happened because of it. On top of that, the players are running on fumes, and the depth is too thin. I wonder if Poch will walk by January. He's had form for leaving clubs before his contracts have been done.

I guess for your friend, the sky isn't blue enough. I think your best might be to figure out how much of it you can take in terms of her bitching, and then cut her off after that (be it five minutes to fifteen minutes) and turn it back on her. Ask her, "Okay, this is the solution, so what are you going to do about it?" Just ask her that, and it will force her to answer. Or short of that, tell her to go to a therapist, or you're going to start charging her. Because what she's doing is emotional labour boo, and that should never be free.

Yeah exactly. I mean, it's complicated because she's been there for me during my lowest points so I want to support her as well but her defeatist, woe-is-me attitude is really grating especially when she's got so many opportunities to lead a better life and she keeps sabotaging them.
I kept telling her to see a doctor but of course, she thinks she's okay. I dunno, at this point, when we fall into this rut, I'm just gonna send her clips from the IT Crowd lol
