FFF: After spending just over a year listening to podfic (and liking it), I'm getting into doing my own. I've been getting preemptive permissions from fanfic writers to read their stories (fandom has a big thing with consent, and you're not supposed to do Transformative Works of fanfics unless the writers say yes) and asking them to leave a Blanket Permissions (BP) statement (as in, YES, NO or MAYBE SO). Everyone else uses Audacity (a free source software) whilst a few of us use GarageBand (this comes with Apple computers). Podfic + learning to use GarageBand have contributed to a helluva learning curve. I've given myself 45-60 hours to get to grips with this before moving on. Either way though, I'm learning a new skill, so that's good
