I'm seeing those Russian ads that givemedaughters pointed out earlier this week. I think it seems to be a Windows-only thing because they pop up when I'm using LJ on my Mac (I'm using my work laptop right now).

I've finally succumbed and ordered a couple of Korean beauty products, the famous Missha essence, and Laneige's sleeping mask.

Right now I've been rocking with Korean sunblock. SPF 50 that doesn't turn me blue or make me breakout? Bliss!

Oooh, what brand is your sunblock? I want to switch to a gel sunscreen because creams are not agreeing with my face. My friend from Japan was using Bioré but I think it's not available in other countries, sigh.

Mine is Biore! I order the stuff from Amazon and I've been pretty impressed. Before that I was using the Body Shop SPF 50 cream (which isn't bad, honestly). I don't mind La Roche Posay (sp), but I think that's a tad heavy. I prefer the La Roche Posay stick to the cream.

Ooh, I'll have to properly look for the Bioré sunscreen then!

Funny you mention La Roche Posay, I've just ordered their Effaclar Duo, hope it works. I'm also treating myself with a bottle of Avène spring water. Hope it's not a complete waste, lol.

La Roche Pousay is a decent brand. It does what it says and its prices aren't rip offs. I do like the blemish cream in that line, but I just find Western sunblock to be pretty heavy. I've been using sunblock since Coppertone with the half naked baby in a sunhat was a thing.

I hear Glossier sunblock is supposed to be good, but they leaned heavily on the formulation of Korean sunblock (which is half the price of what Glossier is charging for their stuff) and they've put citrus essential oils in it which makes no sense.

I tend to use sunblock on face, neck, chest and ears, so I go through that quickly, you know? I just think La Roche's liquid sunblock is a tad heavy for day to day use, whereas it's okay for beach/summer use.

Biore all day in terms of sunblock.

I've read somewhere that Glossier are basically best for their lip care/makeup. Too bad they don't ship here :/

In that their products are like their version of french ones (because they were into that clean classic french potency of brands as well as the aesthetics of said brands). But from what I gather their stuff works (I think in the UK they'll be available for shipping in the autumn) but I'll try a few and get back to you.

Seconding jazzypom! Tell us how they go.

I got a bunch of samples of Korean skincare stuff a couple of weeks ago because my moisture barrier is fuuuucked beyond all reason thanks to my meds. My skin is already pretty hateful and it's hard to find products that I can use that don't cost $$$$$, so I'm hoping something I've gotten works.

Will do!

I've ordered from TesterKorea which prices their products decently (the coveted SK-II is like, 30% off from what I've seen on the major stores like Sephora and Soko Glam). Let's see how reliable they are but I've seen good reviews so far.

I'll have to see if I can find the almond cream to try. My skin usually isn't all that dry during the warmer months -- more dehydrated, and I have some oily spots -- but I definitely always need more moisture for about half the year because Midwest winters are pretty brutal.
