I know I joked about it yesterday, but the odds of LA winning the 2024 Olympics hosting seriously dropped after Trump won the presidency, so that proposed Canada/USA WC bid or whatever is probably dead
re: Olympics, I hope so! Many here do not want LA to host the Olympics, dreading the impact it will add to our already traffic clogged streets and freeways. With that said, the Olympics bid accelerated the push to put Measure M on the ballots, a tax to fund expansion of LA's mass-transit network. LA County voters voted in favor of the tax and legalization of recreational marijuana, so not all was bad news from this week's election results.
