Shame half the team couldn't be sacked too!jesscpDecember 17 2015, 15:17:37 UTC
Mou :( in his defence I truly don't believe all the blame for Chelsea's decline is on his shoulders. Cackling at how Abramovich clearly thinks getting rid of Mou will return Chelsea to winning ways, because he's going to get a reality check when the same dazed, tired and switched off players hit the pitch again.
I want to write so much more but I'm busy at work so inconvenient right now! but my parting comment is get rid of half of the first team who are only there to pick a pay cheque up, send Terry on his way to MLS because he is done in the PL now and utilise their youth academy for a damn change!!

i mean. it has happened. gladbach lost their first 5 games in the BL + 2 CL games and Favre left even though the club wanted him to stay. then they went undefeated in next 11 BL games without him. even beating bayern, but i don't follow chelsea or the PL so who knows really! lol

Oh it could definitely happen and like you mention, it has happened for another club. The thing is, if you look at the Chelsea players currently, there's no drive behind their performances

Not really. All the great managers are either in other jobs or have bad relations with Chelsea. They're one point above relegation. I'd say Brendan is their best bet at this point.
You realllly don't want Brendan jazzypomDecember 17 2015, 16:30:45 UTC
Not that I'd tell tales out of school, but his last eighteen months at LFC was a clusterfuck. In addition, he doesn't really seem to know how to handle players who've won things. He's played players out of position, and plays favourites. Hiddinck is the better choice, tbh.

Not defending Brendan in any way, but I hardly think Liverpool under him were as bad as Chelsea are now. Comfortably mid-table with an uninspired fight for top 4, but never relegation level. At this point, I think Chelsea would more than just be happy with an EL spot.

If Brendan Rodgers had stayed with LFC up to now, we'd have been circling relegation. Don't you remember how terribly Liverpool was playing from the last half of last season (6-1 defeat to Stoke) to early on this season? It got bad enough to the point where people were returning their tickets, and tickets weren't being sold. At least Mourinho brought Chelsea glory in terms of titles and silverware. Rodgers' second season with LFC was an outlier, and I think his man management is suspect.
They got Hiddinck. As much as I'm meh on Dutch coaches in the PL, better him than Rodgers, tbh.

Chelsea will get a new coach bounce, which is what they need. Then, I'm assuming that come January, certain players will go, and the same thing for summer. What's Hiddinck's attitude towards academy talents, do you know?
I wouldn't be surprised if one of the reasons (in addition to circling the relegation drain) why Mourinho got shown the door was his refusal to integrate academy talents. Chelsea has spent a LOT of money on the academy, and there's been whisperers that Rueben Loftus Cheek is angling for a loan and not wanting to sign a contract because he isn't getting any playing time. Also, Chelsea's loan talents have been doing decently well for their loan clubs (I think one is a forward at Fiorentina and he pushed them to the knock out stages of Europa).

God, I hope Chelsea don't hire Favre as their coach.

anyway, i'm not sure Favre would want to pick up a team in a similar situation he left Gladbach in. Well, hopefully.
