It closes 18:00h BST over here.
Not all UEFA countries have the same start dates or end dates to their leagues, either (PL started two weeks earlier than everyone else, and finished a week earlier than everyone else). It's just a period that you have to function in, and it depends on the various leagues re: their cut off point. As long as its within FIFA rules (can't be earlier than x, later than y).
LOL, I guess Manchester United got tired of being played like a mug? Ramos only used Man U so that he could get a better deal (monetary wise) with Real Madrid, and Real Madrid have taken off players from Man U before, so it's a show of power, because United can afford the money. Even though, word has it over here, that in order to play, DdG might have to sign a contract extension (I'm sure it's fanfic, so please ONTD-football, don't come for me, I'm only reporting what I'm hearing on the wires) in order for him to play and to give the club some leverage. It's similar to what Alex Ferguson did with Ronaldo. He knew that Ronaldo wanted to go to Madrid, but asked him for an extra year, and the club got money in the end.

Lol, ManUtd really got used as a pawn this summer.

That's not what I read. I remember reading that DdG's contract issues flew under the wire because of the issues with Moyes paying him off and looking for another manager. By the time Manchester United came up for air and got LvG on board, there was eighteen months on the contract for Man United. DdG was approached to sign, and he said no, because he wanted to go back to Spain because of his parents, and his gf is supposedly making songs about family (since she's banging on thirty). But again, grain of salt.
Man, this transfer window is exciting. Unfortunately, I have Spanish ser and estar conjugations to study for Friday. BOO.
