Yep. It really annoys me that anything of that sort gets "ooh, look at those girls" or "This is why football is a women's game!" (I think that's a US point of view?) comments on Youtube. Female players could never afford behaviour like this. And the pictures of players' legs after the World Cup on that artificial "grass"... yes, they complained afterward, but while playing on it, the did what they had to do.

Mte. I'm an athlete and I have seen a lot of players getting injured (and I've been injured countless times so I know how it is) and what usually indicates that the injury is real is that the injured player stays mostly still. If something hurts, you definitely don't want to make the pain worse by moving like you're possessed. I don't really get how footballers keep on diving like that because it doesn't even work often and it just gives them a bad reputation.

True! And when they get wrongly booked for diving, it's all "but the ref was influenced by his reputation". Make sure you don't have one and you won't have that problem. So ridiculous.

What really stuck me when I watched the women's World Cup was that there was so much less diving. When someone fell down, they got up pretty soon instead of wailing for minutes. And men keep saying that women are the weak ones. Smh.

So embarrassing.
And I love how in the one I linked, the victim of the stunt is so flabbergasted that he isn't even angry, just bursting out laughing.
