Hi again! jesscp June 19 2015, 10:16:52 UTC
hey comm I'm back! I've been travelling/in hospital so I've missed pretty much all of the WWC and even managed to miss CL final! Nightmare!

Anyway the big problem I see with Neymar is in Barca, he's not the main star, which I think suits him better as idk, I feel he is a little more in control of himself and how he acts as a player. Whereas when he plays for his national team, they treat him like the God, the saviour of all Brazilian football. Please don't remind me of the display of tears and tributes when he couldn't play the infamous Germany match at the WC last year. Ugh. So with the God like complex I swear he thinks he can do no wrong and what a petulant brat he acts! He's not the only one like it but seriously, grow up Neymar!

Idk the back story of those gifs but I've read stories and I don't understand why Neymar or his team mates would think the opposition wouldn't go for Neymar. They know he's one of the best footballers, he can't expect to not be challenged and tbf Brazil can't exactly claim they don't play dirty either. Ugh what a mess. Boys will be boys etc.

Dead at Spurs even considering replacing their own defending be saviour Lloris with Weidenfeller. Erm no love yourself Poch. Roman just isn't as good as he was, regardless of where he goes. I think he needs to stay in the buli, I'm not sure he would cope with PL. plus Spurs defence is non existent and he is no Neuer so wake up Spurs look elsewhere!

Finally... Do arsenal even need Cech? What's happening with Ospina and Woj? I'm so out of the loop and my tumblr feed is full of Mats in an awful yellow suit for his wedding, especially when his bride looked so nice, what a letdown.

Oh and UK comms - is Euro u21s on any of our TV channels or is it just looking for dodgy streams?

Hey, hey! How was your trip to Germany (have you been?) and the hospital? Mess. I've done a lot of posts with pictures and news round up and whatnot, and they should be tagged, so knock yourself out (if you have time).

Re: Neymar, yeah the captaincy came too soon, but I don't know if you've been keeping up with the FIFA scandals especially with Brazil (how it's alleged that people who are chosen for the team are those who have strong sponsorship support, i.e. - backed up by Nike or Adidas), and Neymar is just as much of 'face' to various campaigns like Giselle). There's talk that Neymar and Messi are probably too used to the relatively 'genteel' atmosphere of European football so the rough and tumblness of South American football might take them aback? But that discounts a lot lot of factors. In addition, Colombia and Brasil will always have bad blood, so?

Spurs have been linked to a lot of German talent as of late, but I can't see Wiendenfaller being a part of it. For one, he skews too old (Spurs seem to like them young). Vorm might be number one, so Wiendenfallen might be a back up, I can't imagine him being first up if its his first time in the PL.

Yeah, Arsenal needs a top goalie. Ospina is all right, and Sczneznky (or however he spells his name) is good, but seems to have disciplinary issues. Cech is considered on of the best because he's one who will organise a defence around the goal, is vocal, has done big competitions, and is a leader in a way that the other goalies aren't. He also wants to stay in London and is a cut better than the other two. Arsenal would be foolish to pass him up, tbh.

No, there's no Euro U21s. The BBC is carrying WWC and ITV is carrying England senior team as they battle through the euros (seniors). So dodgy cams away!!!!

Nice to have you back and healthy!

Hey! Germany was good thanks - needless to say, speaking German or English was a challenge, but it was gloriously hot weather so I couldn't complain! When I got back though I ended up getting really sick and rundown and spent a fun few days on a drip at the hospital, so I am just glad to be better and at home now. I'm not sure I have much blood left in my body either, my arm looks like I've been injecting the wrong stuff :/

Yeah, I did read briefly about the Brazil scandals - tbh it doesn't surprise me at all. I agree though, Neymar is away from the roughness of South American football, but he grew up in it, so clearly the boy has a poor memory or a selective memory! Either way, he shouldn't be captain because he's obviously not mature enough for it, but his popularity definitely plays into that.

Spurs could probably do with Cech in goal and I reckon if they had CL football then it would be a deal that could go ahead, instead Arsenal who IMO don't need a GK desperately are gonna get him. But let's be real, Spurs need a stronger defence and need to seriously be on the lookout for good strong defenders for the next season.

Spurs have been linked with defenders. They've tapped up this lad from the Bundesliga (he's Austrian, but played in the Bundli) and Trippier from Burnley - so Pochettino seems to be knowing. I think they're also linked to a DM from Marsielles, so yeah.

Actually, it's generally agreed that Arsenal need a top goalie, and neither Opsina or Sczneczky fit the bill (especially for the CL nights and such). I'd hope that Spurs would be trying to find a young and decent goalie from the Bundesliga (not Weiderfallen), they seem to be springing up like mushrooms after a rainfall over there.

Hi sis! Hope you're feeling better now!

Did you see that BvB have got a new, hot, really good goalkeeper? He's from Freiburg. Most of the internet think that Mitch will go but I don't want Mitch to go :(

Arsenal haven't had a truly great goalkeeper since Mad Jens Lehmann. Ospie and Chezza are solid (though Chezza really needs to get his attitude together) but there's no way we'll pass up Cech when he's available. He wants to stay in London, start matches and play in the CL and we'll give him all of those. Though I'm not convinced it'll happen because Mou's doing everything he can to stop the transfer.

Hey, I'm feeling much better thanks! Oh god I've missed so much of the trasnfer gossip that hasn't been PL based! I need to search up this new GK. Hoping he is replacing Roman and that Mitch is staying?

Shouldn't Arsenal be looking for another striker instead of a GK? Do you think Cech would be #1 if he does join? I think if Cech stays then either Ospina or Woj need to consider leaving, as no one wants to simply bench warm?

Yeah, I hope Roman retires and Mitch stays. But I don't know if Mitch will like being #2 to Bürki. Bürki is too good to be benched. He'll start.

Arsenal are looking for a striker too but it seems that Wenger wants to get the job of getting Cech done quickly and focus on the rest of the transfers in the next couple of months. Cech will definitely be #1 if he comes to us, without doubt. The rumors are that Ospie will be the one to leave but honestly, I'd rather if Chezza left. I like the guy, he's got the talent and of course, he's homegrown and a product of our youth academy and all that, but he can't fix his attitude and his ability to pick up at least one red card per season at 25, he's better off going somewhere else. Ospie makes mistakes, but he's a much calmer presence and his distribution isn't as bad as people make it out to be. He's a bit short but I think he's a better option to have as backup than Chezza.
