Chatter from the sidelines

Miscellaneous

Tickets for the Euros are now open. You have to buy a slot for the place rather than the team. So I've been poring over this map to see what will be the best way for me to get to a specific place before I even slap money and details down

Pictures

First FIFA, then the Netherlands and Germany. The yankees are coming

confidence is high, I must say. Where's the picture of the Statue of Liberty with a lightsaber

Villa was watching his teammate- okay, I'm putting the cart before the horse, and people will be wanting context, no? The USians will correct me, I'm sure

As it stands right now, Klinsmann is building a team for the future. Yes, he's tapped up old ass Beasley to come back into the side for mentorship, but he's looking to da youf. In addition, Klinsmann's doing loads of friendlies with a strong side, which can only help their seeding in future competitions. Klinsmann is switching, but he seems to be zeroing in on the talents that he wants on his side

Neuer was rested for this young un Zieler- again, which makes sense, because Germany will also be looking towards blooding the youth in. TIL- since Loew has been in charge, Germany has had 75 different players coming through and starting for die Mannschaft- it seems to have stuck. I probably spelt it wrong.

I was pretty much watching the match for Yedlin (not pictured) to be fair. A lot of Americans are ringing the alarm that Yedlin has yet to get sustained PL play time. But ITKs said that Yedlin didn't impress in his first coaching, re: lack of positional discipline. Also, he seems to be used as a supersub for USMNT but anyway!

Herman Munster on the case. He did well! (German lad)

Polksi is still alive?!

Got Wood? Wood scored on the Americans with a closing goal. All I know about him is that he's from Hawaii and plays in a lower league side in Germany

The Americans fell behind quickly in the first half, Mix Diskerud (?) brought his side level

Yedlin (Yedders as he's now called) came on in the second half. Immediately gave US some teeth - he makes a good winger

I can't make up my mind re: Michael Bradley. What is he supposed to be? A playmaker? Or...?

Klinsmann needs some pompoms, or semaphore flags. Stat

Yo, Dutch peeps, how's Johannsen doing?

Bobby Wood! Anyway, as much as the American announcers were crowing, please remember that Germany didn't send out a full strength team, and they seem to be in transition what with Lahm retiring, Schweinsteiger recovering from one injury or the other, and the young uns being blooded in. That being said, Klinsmann has a youngish side now buoyed by success headed into the Copa America and he seems to be imprinting his version of style on the Americans.

OP: done! Any cheers, jeers, corrections and pushback you know the drill! I will be out and about. Have a good one!
