Europa Cup final Dnipro 2 - 3 Sevilla
Pity the Europa final. On the day it was to be played, it was off and popping in FIFA, so although I found the match interesting, it paled in comparison to the live feed of what was going down in FIFA. Too bad, because this match was the first that offered a back door into Champions League
For this match, Sevilla was in red, Dnipro in blue. I'm surprised that Sevilla got to wear red and not their usual white, because on black and white TVs, they'd look like shades of grey (that's the main reason why teams have to wear high contrast opposing colours on the field, because back in the day, TVs were black and white. But I guess everyone should have a colour TV now?). Bacca (the Colombian Sevillan striker) was in beast mode and got two in the back of the net
The teams well supported. The stadium swathed in blue and red, the air a rumble of noise
Matheus collapsed - the effects of a concussion. The stadium was silent, the Sevilla players remembering how one of their own collapsed - so send good vibes to Matheus
He was challenging for a header
The match was good. Dnipro got the first goal, Sevilla rallied, then got ahead, only for Dnipro to even with a penalty. The supporters had a right to cheer, considering what their country is going through
Congratulations after the score!
Kalinic used to be a Blackburn Rovers player! Footballers can be well travelled, eh?
Sevilla was MIA when this header went in
Back of the net! Sevilla was coming for y'all
The amount of goals Bacca scored
Is he... taking a picture in the middle of the field?
Dnipro captain be like... free kick TIME!
Bacca might have been my MOTM. Talk about belief! Getting the team lead, and all that
Sevilla are winners for the fourth year in a row! They can now get some of that CL money and move their team closer to ATM. I'm sure Emry (Sevilla coach) will do a Simeone and use Europa as a launching pad for his team to do greater things. Hopefully, they can keep their best players too, with the improved money
Yayyyyy
OP: done! Any cheers, jeers, corrections, commentary pushback, you know the drill. I was going to drop some Real Madrid gossip, but that will be tomorrow, yeah? The FIFA fallout is just too good. Too, too good!Mods, can I have a tag 'club: dnipro' please?
