Chatter from the sidelines
- Swansea City striker Michu branded the biggest flop of the Serie A season after Napoli loan switch this was funny, he forced a loan from Swansea to Napoli, got injured, had surgery didn't play the year and now he's back in Swansea
- Champions League race wide open as nine-man Lazio lose Serie A round up
- Juventus hope cup run will honour memory of ‘forgotten’ Heysel disaster victims Yeah, this has been interesting. The English FA offered some sort of action in terms of honouring the victims and were rebuffed, because Juventus said that they would do their own thing
- Toni Kroos could be fit to face Juventus after Real Madrid star tells fans 'don't worry' on Twitter the match is on Wednesday, right?
- Gareth Bale is becoming isolated at Real Madrid because he can't speak Spanish No sympathy. He's lived in the country for two seasons, is rich enough to hire a tutor, and really? Really? Spain isn't like Germany or Belgium where you walk up to someone and try your German or Dutch only for them to wave you off and start speaking English. The Spanish are just as bad as the English when it comes to foreign languages - you have ample opportunities to practice, even in cosmopolitan Madrid. A truly ugly Brit

You know how you have a shame crush- someone that you'd never admit to whilst sober around friends, because you know they'd take the piss? Well, Kun isn't that. I think I have a twirling my braids, giggling as if I'm twelve, fluttering my lashes crush on him
QPR went down 6-0 to Man City. Kun got the match ball *insert lewd comment here*
Kisses to everyone
Chelsea 1-1 Liverpool
Gerrard's time in the PL is winding down. Glad for him to go, have a new adventure
The Chelsea fans turned out to send him off in the only way they know how
A close up
Liverpool had to do the guard of honour. Everyone was on about "Oh if Gerrard had only said yes to Mourinho", to be fair, the thought is that he stayed with LFC because of his cousin who was a part of the 96 who died. He's seen the slow wheels of justice crank on, lived long to see suffering arcing to justice! Twenty five years! He's been known to give generous amounts for the charity throughout the years, and finally, FINALLY - last year everything started to come out in the wash, and now that it's come out, Gerrard can finally leave. I believe him when he said that it was never about the trophies with any other club but LFC. When the 96 died and Thatcher's government and the Sun hushed it up, and lied on the supporters, the football club stood for its fallen supporters, and kept standing. The managers who headed the club respected it (especially Rafa), and Gerrard and Carra made sure that every player that came to the club got what the 96 meant as well. I'm sorry that LFC didn't win the title because it would have been a good book end, since the day Gerrard slipped and lost LFC the title was 25 years to the day his cousin died. So yeah, no guff from me today. Gerrard leaves the PL knowing that his cousin's death will be heard in the court of the land, and won't be vilified. ANYWAY- sorry for the ruminating
So, let's reintroduce ourselves to Ruben Loftus Cheek. He mean mugged briefly last year in Chelsea's champions league, and Mourinho teased that he'd be throwing academy talent into the mix. Loftus Cheek is a midfielder, 6'4", known for silky moves (oh baby!) and tidy passes. He's also defensively minded, which is catnip to a man like Mourinho.
This is how tall the lad is. Nineteen! Wow. He's been with the academy from eight years of age.
Loftus-Cheek is good in the air
Sharp on the ball. He's disciplined, is known for neat and accurate passing, and there are whispers that he has the Pogba about him.
The fact that Mourinho hasn't sent him off on loan, dismisses the notion and has held him back speaks to what talents he thinks he has. Also, Mourinho can make the player into his own image (have him defensive minded, working for his team, suffer in the European way, etc. So yeah, no shade
Ajax has always had some janky outfits
Napoli and Parma. I just like Napoli's home kit
I love Inter's kit. I wish I liked how football jerseys felt because I'd rock one on holiday
Shalke 04 played against Köln and lost
Memphis Depay says goodbye to PSV fans. He's on his way to Manchester United. Spurs wanted him last year, he said no. Liverpool and PSG were vying for his signature for next season, and he was thisclose to signing with PSG when van Gaal got wind, and had to break off his match planning to call Depay and say that he wanted him now. Memphis Depay prefers to be called Memphis, since his dad (Ghanian) was a bit of a dipshit to his mum and pissed off to places unknown when Memphis turned 1. LvG and himself are said to have a warm, almost father-son relationship.
So LFC gets another black eye *SIGH*, and Man United gets quality. That being said, it's always nice to have star players in the PL. But still, SIGH.
ON the eve of Spanish stoppage, Atletico Madrid played on
Man alive, ATM's goalie is a beast. There's a cloud how he left his previous club to go to ATM (allegedly refused to train, etc), but he's been playing out of his skin
Levante was not to be cowed though
Fought hard, asked for no quarter and gave none...
Atletico was disorganised
They got lucky in getting a draw. It was a weekend of teams who you expected to do better, didn't
