Chatter from the sidelines
- Adam Johnson released on bail after arrest on suspicion of having sex with 15-year-old girl as Sunderland suspend England star NGL, I think sixteen as age of consent is pretty young- so 15 makes me wants to SMH- and kick Johnson so hard, he'd have to open his mouth to pee. >:(
- Rochdale player faces sack after saying he’d ‘bang’ Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard’s daughter well, there goes my appetite. I suffer so that you can suffer. She's three, you sick mofo
- Celtic fan Jay Beatty wins Scottish Premier League Goal of Month award with 97% of votes cast Late, but I was charmed, so you might be, too
- Home nations at loggerheads after FA plan to send two teams to Rio 2016 Olympics infuriates Wales and Northern IrelandOh, FFS...Scotland wants no part of it, and the Welsh team for the first time in forever seem to be building around a core of talent. You know what, let me drink this tea
- Bas Dost of Wolfsburg is European football's in-form striker with 13 goals in eight matches since turn of the year... but who is the Dutch hotshot scoring so much goals, people have had to turn of their phone notifications. I see you Bost. How soon will Bayern come calling?
- Dave Mackay, Spurs legend, has passed RIP
- Di Maria was too ugly for Real Madrid sounds legit. As soon as a less simian version of Gareth Bale comes along, he'll be gotten rid of too
- NAPOLI BOSS BENITEZ TOLD TO RESIGN AFTER SURLY MEDIA CONFERENCE LOL, that's just Rafa though. Spanish coaches are either philosophical or prickly. Benitez is double prickly
- CHELSEA ICON DROGBA ADMITS SON ISAAC WANTS TO PLAY FOR ENGLAND LOL, Drogba's children sound like characters. When he left Chelsea to go to Turkey, his children said that they'd come and visit, they were fine staying where they were. To be fair, I think Drogba's son is enrolled at a football academy so to withdraw him and take him on his father's peripatetic travels would slow his development. It's suggested that one of the reasons why Brooklyn Beckham was let go by Arsenal, is that he hadn't developed early enough because he started his football academy experience a bit too late, compared to the younger Beckham boys
- REVEALED: CHELSEA shirt deal with Yokohama Rubber worth over £200M A lot of industry insiders are nodding at this, because it shows that Chelsea is running with the Real Madrids, Man Uniteds of this world, in terms of attracting such sums. It shows the team's winning ways, quality, helps with promotion, image, yadda yadda. If those sums are good enough for Real Madrid... It means that the cool Samsung font will be gotten rid of though. There was a joke that they'd ask Yokohama Rubber to make some special pads for Eden Hazard
- Arsenal ‘set to raid Juventus to hire sporting director and transfer expert Fabio Paratici’ Thought: there's a lot of that going around now, tbh. I think Spurs just got this lad from Malaga to help with their scouting (after the expense of Soldado, I think Spurs are going for potential now, then developing the talents in house, ala FSG and Liverpool). Southampton have had a couple of their transfer director guys poached as well (for Spurs, I think?) There's a seachange happening in the English game in terms of behind the scenes. For instance, there's the direction of say, getting a director of football and a headcoach instead of the all knowing/ all seeing coaches of Ferguson, Redknapp of yesteryear. In addition, coaches are now being traded for 'upgrades' whenever a team gets promoted to a new league. For example, a coach took his team from League 1 to Championship, and now he's been told whatever the season holds, he's going to be replaced even if they are doing well. Southampton did that around three years ago, releasing Aktins (who took the team from Championship to PL, and got them into 15th), for Mauricio Pochettino (who got them into eighth before he left for Spurs due to machinations behind the scenes. But Pochettino choose Spurs to atone for killing a holy man in a former life, I SWEAR, OMG). If you look at it with a cool eye, it is true that some coaches can't seem to make the jump from one league to the other (Foxes's Pearson and Burnley's Diche? come to mind). That Red Bull football team in Germany is notorious for it. They swap coaches as soon as they move up a league. I can see why they do it, although it's cold blooded. Sorry, sorry! I'm woolgathering. If these ramblings are a distraction, tell me to zip it, and I'll stop. Tumblr meta tags have influenced me in the worst way
- Barcelona demand £22m for Arsenal transfer target Pedro The Barcelona/Arsenal 'special relationship' doesn't benefit Arsenal at all. The players come to Arsenal, then bully and make a scene so as to leave, they go away, get burned, expect Arsenal to want them back, especially when Barca players undermine the club. Why though? Sanchez is different because he wasn't wanted
- VALENCIA, JUVENTUS TARGET STRUGGLING MAN UTD STRIKER FALCAO Well, I'm so tired of crying, but I'm out on the road again, I'm on the road again
- Mario Balotelli ‘close to quitting Liverpool for Orlando City transfer’Isn't that Kaka's team? To go to MLS at this stage could signal 'wash out'. But that being said, probably Balotelli might find the fit that he's been looking for for all of his career but, *BIG SIGH*
- Real Madrid’s lead cut to two points after Villarreal fight back for draw Yay for Villarreal *side eyes at City - you had one job, you guys. ONE. JOB.*
- La Liga: Alberto Bueno's quartet and Isco's unpopular withdrawal at Real Madrid sorry for all this Real Madrid news in my news feed. I follow La Liga, not necessarily RM. But I guess, such is their reach
- Jordan Seabright: Torquay keeper quits to become car salesman Good on him. Looked at his dreams, saw his reality and made the decision
- Man City eye Pep Guardiola as Manuel Pellegrini blows Premier League hopes What a nonsense.

Serie A
Inter's glik celebrating. Nooo, they've dented Napoli's bid for CL action.
Monday night game: Roma vs Juventus
Roma vs Juventus. Totti vs Pirlo. Two titans and talismen of their respective teams. Juventus comes into this competition nine points ahead of the pack of Serie A. Roma has been wounded with their past campaigns and reeling from being knocked out of the Champions League. The 7-1 loss is a faint sting, a fading scar on their body, but proud, oh so proud.
Tevez, oh Tevez! Complicated, infuriating and a goddamn goal ferret. Able to see spaces where others see walls. Did a beautiful spot kick
A thing of beauty. If I could, I'd project this gif on a wall just to watch. Stunning
The definition of YAAAAASSSS
The supporters cheered, cheered so much, their sounds filled up the stadium, you'd think that there were that amount but four times more
Oh my goooodneeesss!
Roma falls to ten men. They are short one man on the field. Oh noes! Will insult be added to injury in terms of a loss?
Kieta is all, "Should have stayed in bed, pulled a sickie, because this is some BS
Roma clawed back! One man down, one goal behind, they came back for a draw! 1-1! Fantastico!
OP: and that's it! Any missed news, pushback, etc, please post and I will amend when I can (I know the promise is tattered with missed intentions, but I do intent to come back and cover any areas missed, just... not right now. Also, if the meta rambling in the comments is too much, tell me. Tumblr has made me the worst. It encourages one to tag flotsams of thoughts into the net of meta.
