I thought David Luiz did very well against Chelsea. He worked hard, tackled and fouled but he was impressive in midfield.
Angry Jerome is hot.

Really? It would have been one of Grandpère's great coups if he did join us. It would have been weird to have him with us but I guess I would have liked him around anyway. But it would not have gone down well with the Liverpool supporters + Real Madrid is Real Madrid and all, so I won't begrudge him for going to them instead.
But I was thinking, we (Arsenal) never poach players. That last time a player of a top club in the PL left to join us was Sol Campbell. We've become the official feeder club to Man City, United (RVP) and Chelsea (albeit indirectly), sigh.

I think Xabi going to Arsenal would've ruined his pristine imagine of ~LFC IN MY HEART 4EVA~ (well obviously). I think I would've lost a little respect for him too. Xabi is surprisingly suave about relations; as has been noted, he is the type of player who is difficult for fans of other clubs to hate on. (Well, unless if you are an RM fan who is bitter he left I guess.)

LOL, quite, Alonso was pretty savvy optics wise, even then. I just remembered that Real Madrid offered £30 million (it was rumored to be £30 million which was a screamer of a figure in those days) and at the end of the day, when Real and Barca come calling, everything falls from view.

Ugh, they didn't even want Alexis (because of one Hobbit Prince) and he's killing it at the PL with us and suddenly they're like, "We didn't want to sell him"? Nope sorry, there's no way Grandpère is letting our over-enthusiastic bionic man leave anytime soon.

I was like, um unless if you are going to give us £300 million for Alexis, we're not giving him back =_= He's ours now

But yeah, he left Liverpool and joined Madrid during our hard times when we didn't have much money so we wouldn't have been able to afford him :(

But yeah, Arsenal was always one of those clubs that bought modestly and well. Wenger always seemed to tap talent playing in France and got them for a modest amount of money and sold them on for a handsome profit. Then you bought Ozil for £40 million. Just... goddamn.

But just lightly scruffy is always a good look for him.

Xabi delightfully seems to have escaped it. I hope my bae Aaron will also escape this fate. It looks like he is navigating it quite well right now :D

Not to mention, he doesn't do stupid things like attend Ana Ivanovic's flop parties (I didn't see any picture, did you?).
And with Cesc, there's karma and lack of the Arsenal effect involved. When you move from a team of hotties to one where PK (not even poor Valdes) is considered to be the best looking, you can expect the looks to fade. And then move to Chelsea, the ugliest team in London? You have no chance then.
At least Vermy's looks are safe for now. It helps that he's practically dead at the moment.

And no, I don't think Thomas attended. I think some people are skeptical of marrying young, but he and Lisa seem like a very stable, happy couple who aren't interested in the limelight. He is definitely a jerk sometimes, but he also seems very grounded. Thomas goes to work, then comes home to his wife and they are happy together 8) Honestly, he liked it and he put a ring on it, which is good because she is a Queen, and he knows how lucky he is.
