Try and email or call Dortmund football club directly. I know for football clubs over here (because I'm registered to Spurs) is that you do have to register first, it's good for card details and to have stuff on hand, etc. Then once you register, you can start buying tickets, get details for matches, etc. So yeah, the first thing for tickets, should be to register on the website, and get your name attached to an address, etc.
You can email the football club directly or call them (I'm sure between their English and your German on the phone, you can make way). It's not that hard from what I gather, a lot of English people go to Germany to take in the match games, etc. But I think registering will be a big help, instead of just showing up and expecting stuff, you know?
Alternatively, you can go via travel agents, I know people who did that in order to get to a Liverpool game with accompanying hotel and such (but to be fair, they were from the US). Look into that as well?
