Rauball threatens to exit from the UEFA FIFA

Dr. Reinhard Rauball visited a few hours before the match between Germany and Gibraltar the kicker editorial in Nuremberg. The 67-year-old league president found clear words of the final report of the ethics committee of FIFA: "Maybe you have to also talk about the question of whether one is actually still in good hands in the FIFA." read more here

David De Gea Faces 4 Weeks Off The Field

David De Gea could face at least a month out of action after dislocating a finger during training with the Spanish national side.
The Manchester United goalkeeper was having the injury assessed by Spain's team doctor on Friday night before deciding when he should return to Old Trafford.
The 24-year-old who has been in brilliant form for United this season was trying to save a low shot from Paco Alcacer when the little finger on his right hand jammed during a session preparing for Saturday's friendly against Belarus in Huelva. damned international breaks, eh? Who would have them?

Turf is Ruined at Wembley

The turf in question

Roy Hodgson’s worst fears over the quality of the playing surface at Wembley stadium appear to have been realised after a member of Slovenia’s backroom staff condemned the turf as “completely ruined”, a factor the visitors hope will count in their favour.

Saturday’s Euro 2016 quaifier comes just six days after Wembley hosted an NFL game between Jacksonville Jaguars and Dallas Cowboys, an event which, combined with poor weather over the past few days, has left the turf badly damaged in some areas. The stadium’s managing director, Roger Maslin, had admitted earlier this week that the pitch would “not be of the very highest standard” for the qualifier, with Hodgson having been critical of the decision to play American football in the arena so soon before the Slovenia tie.

His side have conducted their preparations at St George’s Park, but the visitors trained at Wembley evening with one member of their backroom staff offering a frank assessment of the quality of the surface. “Down the wings it is fine,” he said, “but there is a 10-metre square patch right in the middle where the pitch is completely ruined. There is no grass there at all.” Water appeared still to be pooling in some areas after heavy rainfall earlier in the day.ugh, seriously?

Professional football suspended in Greece after attack on referee

Attacking referees is terrible

Matches in Greece’s professional leagues have been suspended indefinitely after a referees’ committee official was admitted to hospital following a violent attack.

Police said 45-year-old Christoforos Zografos, the assistant director of the central refereeing committee, was beaten with wooden clubs by two men on a motorcycle in west Athens in the early hours of Friday.

After an emergency meeting the Hellenic Football Federation decided not to appoint referees following the “murderous attack”. It announced the indefinite postponement of all matches in all divisions “to protect those involved”. Referees would not be appointed until immediate steps were taken to protect match officials. read more here

Qatar is a wealthy country which has bought itself a World Cup!' Eric Cantona hits out at FIFA 2022 decision

Qatar, he said was just 'a very wealthy country which has bought itself a World Cup'.
'When you award the World Cup to a country, it is to develop football there,' Cantona explained.
'When they gave the World Cup to the United States, there was great potential there, with the Mexican and South American immigration, to develop football. 'But what is there that can be done in Qatar? How many people live in Qatar?'

The tiny gas-rich emirate has a population of around 2.2 million, the vast majority of them migrant workers, drawn from India, Nepal and other Asian and Arabic countries.
'When you are in a very small country, where you have to pay people to fill the stadiums, that isn't the point of it, as far as I'm concerned.

'It is a very wealthy country which has bought itself a World Cup.'
On Thursday, FIFA published a report clearing Qatar and Russia of corruption and ruling out a re-vote for the tournaments despite widespread allegations of wrongdoing.
Garcia, a former New York federal prosecutor, spent 18 months investigating the controversial World Cup race that ended with the selection of Russia for 2018 and Qatar for 2022.
