This is really sad. Of course the slip up against chelsea was tragic but if a teammate had recovered the ball than there would be no problem. As for England. The whole team failed there. It was hardly his fault alone.

IA and the press have been so merciless, blaming him for everything. When Rooney apologized, they criticized Stevie for not taking charge properly and a lot of the fault is on Hodgson too.

Yeah, I'm not his biggest fan, but the problems England face are beyond any single player, or even the team. I felt bad for him when he got that backlash. It was so indicative of the toxic atmosphere that surrounds the NT.

I love Stevie and I feel for him, it's been a horrible time for him and the fact he'll retire soon makes it worst.

The end of the season was heartbreaking. But it's done and now we must focus on this season. There's no point to keep on thinking on what could have been.

i'll hate to see him retire from liverpool when the time comes
i hope he's playing for more than one season..
it's beautiful how he sacrifices the nt to stay available for his club, tho. and the girls <3
