^^the title is indeed an allusion to his supposed chubbiness, but idgaf, he's flawless to me. You never #needtodietpills, Lamps!
It’s actually his bday tomorrow but I'll be busy then so I’m getting this up early! My favourite Chelsea player and King for life, Frank Lampard’s goin’ be 33 tomorrow! I have more pictures of Frank Lampard in my five photobucket accounts than any other celebrity/human/person, so naturally, a big-ass picspam!
The Kalou, Lampard and Cech "ALL IN" signs were recently put up at Stamford Bridge. Speaking of which, if any of you Chelsea gurls are ever in London, we should totally hook up, I loooove meeting internet peeps and the bant would be insane!
In terms of technical brilliance, one of my favourite goals of his came against Barcelona in the group stages of the CL, it was effing flawless.
Even The Torygraph, who despises us, rated him [yup, it's dat Chav scrapbook again!]
He's a bloody lad, even when being sent off, manages to maintain a certain air of je ne sais quois
But in both cases he was in the right and the ref just needed to train
lololololol with Arjen Robben and Wayne Bridge
Having beef with Cesc
We Need to Train-ing with Crouchiebung! (speaking of which, in an article I wrote on my blog [#NeedToself-promote], I had Lamps as my
second most would like to watch player ). That... went well, as did the majority of rates on that list. #BiggerjinxthanMickJagger #needstostopusinghashtagsateverything
Also speaking of We Need to Train, I found this from Christmas 2009, he he

When Drogba was whining about wanting to take the penalty on the last day of the 2009-2010 season, Frank put him in his place.

The three scorers in our recent match against West Ham (when Torres finally scored, he he he)
Sorry to keep going on about this but it is kind of the most beautiful, heartbreaking and life-affirming image of all time:
No-one’s gonna read the following bit as I’m renowned for being an indulgent use-ten-words-when-one-will-do-like-Salman-Rushdie Chelsea bitch, so I’m just gonna copy and paste something from my personal lj for completeness.
This is my favourite moment in football of all-time. I’ve been watching footie for a good chunk of my life and in my time I’ve seen some fierce goals, but this one means more to me than anything. It was just amazing. When Lampard stepped up to take that penalty, my stomach was in knots. Watching it back for the umpteenth time, I still get goosebumps. This, right there, is an example of when football and life colliding into something even greater. I can’t even begin to try to guess how he must have been feeling.
Ballack won the penalty, and I’m sure many would have felt safer, nay preferred for Ballack to take the penalty. Had Lampard missed, it would have hurt so much more than any other penalty miss. This was more than just the penalty that paved our way to the Champions League final. That penalty was 38409384309 times more important than any other penalty, not just because it paved the way to the CL final for us for the first time in our history but because had Lampard missed, it would have meant wayyyy more than any other miss due to the events leading up to it for him. For me, him scoring that penalty was one of those life-affirming moments in football. Life triumphed over death. <3 And those tears cascading down his face still make me well up a bit. <3 The Chelsea players running up to him, how Drogba and Carvalho held him, as if part of a Greek statue, typifies how much team spirit we have.
To even play for Chelsea following such a huge tragedy of losing his mother showed what a great professional he is. To score a penalty, under such pressured conditions, when there were other penalty takers on the pitch who could have shouldered the burden showed what a great player he is. His heartfelt tribute to his mother showed what a great man he is. I really don't know how anyone could not feel something for Lampard after that moment, and if they don't, then they are figuratively heartless, because in that moment, he won, the haters lost. Frank Lampard will always have my respect for that beautiful act of bravery.
Easily my favourite moment in football in the many years I've been watching it. ♥
And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
Lampard missed the game against Manchester United to grieve the death of his mother, wherein Ballack scored two goals, including the winning penalty. After his first goal, the Chels held up this shirt in loving memory of Pat Lampard. People who say we don't have team unity after something as beautiful as this are clearly either a) blind or b) jell.
I don’t mean to purposely be all schmaltzy, but this man is my life. I love him so much. I do remember quite a few of his fails, not least that penalty miss for England in the 2006 World Cup, his dalliance with Inter when Mourinho joined, etc, but I’m willing to overlook them because this man has bought me so much sunshine and joy. I could count on my fingers the amount of people in the world I really, truly, with all my soul, love, and Lampsybung is certainly one of them.
An article in The Guardian about how fierce he was after our FA Cup win in 2009 against Everton.
tyfyt ladies ~~~
