with all due respect to the talent of the players that we're targeting, none of them at this point would replace Meireles in the starting line-up. i will legit be so incredibly upset if this bullshit is true

Have any proper journalists said anything about Raul yet? All the stuff I've seen so far has just been people speculating that we'll need to get rid of someone and assuming it would be him because of his age.

I don't know if this was a journalist who said it (can't remember where I found it, honestly), but I read somewhere that Meireles wants more money because of his overall performance this season, he feels he should be paid more than he is right now. I just don't see why if we get Adam, we'd want to get rid of Meireles. He's had a great season with us, especially when Kenny took over the managing reigns, I hope this is just someone who is pressed that we got Meireles in the first place haha

I can't see Raul being the type of person to say things like that, didn't he say the other month that if we offered him a 10 year contract he'd sign it right away?

AH I found where I read about his contract: here they say that it was an informal agreement that he'd have his contract looked at during the summer. He definitely would stay if he gets an extension, and I think it'd be worth giving to him.

All this moaning from Liverpool fans about Charlie Adam perhaps to replace Meireles just get me angry. If you want to have more a good-looking team rather than a good team than you don't deserve Charlie.

On the other side: if Dalglish wants to keep / get both does he want to play a 2-6-2 system next season or what? Congratulations then!

I mean, of course I'd love to have Adam, but not at the cost of Meireles. It has nothing to do with looks, for me, but there are other midfield players we can easily get rid of before Meireles.

I don't think Kenny will want to get rid of Raul, I don't see any reason why he should be heading out.
But my word, there's sure gonna be a tough competition for the midfield positions next season. Nothing wrong with that though. No doubt in my mind that Kenny will get the club quality people and talent. But pretty please, keep Raul, he's been brilliant.
