Iran's dream of competing in the London 2012 Olympic women's football tournament have been crushed by an unexpected ruling that their Islamic dress broke Fifa rules, said a football federation official in Tehran.

wow that is so mean to get their hopes up like that only to snatch away their dreams when they are so close to achieving them. someone couldn't have figured this out BEFORE it went this far???? seems like they played by the rules by getting permission etc and nobody said anything about it earlier so why so harsh?
