Arne Friedrich: "I want to reach the top with VfL"
It was his start with the 'Wolves': On Monday morning, German international Arne Friedrich trained with the team for the first time since returning from his post-World Cup holiday, and he was greeted enthusiastically by the VfL fans. After the session, the highly motivated 31 year old stated: "After a tough year in Berlin, I was able to really free my head at the World Cup. I want to really reach for the top again with VfL."
"I will do my best for the club - both on and off the pitch," explained the German international. And all the VfL fans can really look forward to Arne Friedrich, whose targets are ambitious. He considers it important that the club "were able to hold on to players like Edin Dzeko. The team is strong, I see a lot of potential here," said Friedrich.
Aside from his sporting value, VfL manager Dieter Hoeneß also put the defenders personal qualities to the forefront: "We hope that Arne can bring us both his sporting qualities as well as his character," commented VfL managed Dieter Hoeneß on the player’s calibre in all areas. Speaking of Wolfsburg - the German international has also answered his accommodation question. Despite being in close proximity to his long-term home in Berlin, he will take a place in Wolfsburg: "I’m still living in a hotel at the moment but I have found an apartment very close to the stadium," said Friedrich.
