Oh shit, I think I must have missed that CL Ged won us. WE WON IT 6 TIMES!!!

I mean it's not like the players Rafa bought in like Luis and Xabi did much to help us win in 2005. Thank fuck for Ged's legacy of amazing players like Harry Kewell and El Hadji Diouf, we'd have never won it without them!

lol i remember that one video after the cl in the changing room the players were posing with the trophy and eeeeeegor wandered in looking confused with his towel about to fall from his waist lmfao.

yes. and the thing is yeah numerically we were worse but that's it. everything else we're still better now. the board back then kept on giving gh money and he still kept buying shit. i love him, i remember all the good but i can't deny that he really should've stepped down after the heart operation, that's when it all started to go down.

Yeah I feel bad slagging him off because it's clear that the stress of his heart problems had a big effect on him as a manager but srsly, if Rafa had the financial backing that Ged had we'd have such an amazing team right now (I know he bought some shit players too, but compared to Ged he was flawless!)

ikr, and it's one thing to say the team had a CL place and another to consistently maintain it. Rafa kept us in CL every season except the last one, and we usually made it to either a semifinal or a quarterfinal. Under Houllier we were mostly a UEFA Cup team.
