OK! catches up with Alex Gerrard and Steven Gerrard as the Liverpool ace turns restauranteur
Steven Gerrard has exclusively revealed to OK! that he and wife Alex Gerrard have been 'lucky from day one.'
England footballer Steven Gerrard, who invited OK! along to the launch of his restaurant Warehouse Kitchen & Bar this week, says he and wife Alex Gerrard are lucky to have had a good relationship from day one.
Speaking at the opening in Southport, he gushed: "I really liked Alex when I first met her...
"We were lucky, as from day one the relationship has been very good."
OK! columnist Alex also revealed her husband's new business venture has a sentimental meaning to it too.
"It’s where Steven took me on our first date," she told us. "We used to eat here all the time because Steven used to live nearby."
The loved-up couple, who have been dogged by upsetting rumours that their marriage is on the rocks, are gearing up to celebrate their third wedding anniversary - although they might have to enjoy it a little later than usual this year.
"Steven will still be going away with England in South Africa for the World Cup so we’ll probably do something when he gets back," Alex explained.
"We could have a second honeymoon somewhere."
Steven added: "The World Cup is my priority right now, so I can’t think about that.
"Hopefully I’ll still be in South Africa with the team doing well. Alex knows this year’s anniversary will be more low-key than usual because of my football commitments, so right now we have no plans for our day.
"Last year we were on holiday and we had a romantic date, we’ll definitely do something once the World Cup is over. "
