[01] Introducing ..Schweinez?

FC Bayern were in Dubai recently, and these two got themselves infront of the camera. They decided to give the fans a little tour around their hotel and you can see them speaking a bit of english, beatboxing and being all chummy with eachother. The video can be seen HERE.

So what does Poldi think about this?

[02] Podolski becomes 'pilot'; suffers back injury
(TWO EVENTS NOT RELATED)

Oh he would. Shortly before the landing in Colonge last Saturday, Poldi had disappeared into the cockpit. The pilot, Christoph Lang and his first officer Florian, greeted Poldi and made an extra "lap of honour" in Cologne, passing the World Cup Stadium and the Dome. To top it off, Poldi played the FC Koln anthem from his cellphone on the board speakers.

Poldi was missing from the Tuesday traning session due to back trouble. He went to the hospital for further examination. It has been suggested that he could be sufferring from an intervertebral disc problem. This hasn't been the first time Podolski has suffered a similar problem, he had a slight discal hernia two years ago. "We have to be careful with this kind of injury. I expect him to be out of action for three weeks, but he could very well be unavailable a bit longer," said Koeln coach Zvonimir Soldo to Express.

[03] German players comment on terrorist attack
on Togolese National Team
“It’s completely sick,” Germany’s top goalkeeper Rene Adler told the Bild am Sonntag newspaper. “I have to ask how they’re going to ensure security at the World Cup. I’m sure we’ll be safe as a team, but what about family members?”

“When you hear something like that, you do a double take and start thinking,” Germany midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger told the SID sports news agency. “If something happens on a football team, then that is very sad and worrying for local people.”

Philipp Lahm, on the other hand, is reassurred of the safety measures in South Africa after his postitive experience there a few years ago. "I was already in South Africa. I feel there is nothing happening," said the left back. Even Mario Gomez is convinced "that everything is being done to ensure that all participants will experience a safe tournament."

[04] Miroslav Stevic talks World Cup: Germany vs Serbia

The former Partizan player, who later gained prominence appearing for German sides, believes
the World Cup Group D fixture between Serbia and Germany will prove to be a special treat.
“Both teams are really strong in the air and at set pieces. Serbia will be relying on the tall striker, Nikola Zigic, and the strong built of Vidic, Subotic and Ivanovic. Meanwhile, Germany’s assets will be Mertesacker, who is 198 cm tall, and also Klose, who is terrific in the air. Still, this is not the most important element of play.”

“Germany are the kind of team who excel at tournaments - they raise their form with every game and never give up. As at least half of the lads originally come from different countries and football cultures, so their game has much more flair.”
