What's the problem with Brave???? It's free of stereotypically girly stuff, but it does center around a girl who wants to be a knight? I mean, what's the problem with that? It looks promising.

I think they did similar title changing stuff because they wanted boys to see a movie starring a girl, so they called it something they assumed would appeal more to boys?

...I'm not sure I have it in me to be righteously outraged by that. Getting more boys to watch a movie starring a girl is not a bad thing.

Well they did the same thing with Tangled, and the annoying aspect of it was that they thought boys wouldn't want to see a movie about a girl so they changed the name and advertised the male character almost exclusively in some of the earlier trailers. I don't know too much about the Brave thing, but it annoys me either way that they think they have to butch things up so boys will like them.

The only Brave trailer I've seen makes it abundantly clear that the movie centers around a girl.

Yea I'm not disagreeing at all. I'm just annoyed with the general idea that you have to try really hard to make a movie about a girl appeal to boys. Just make it a good movie, and it will appeal to anybody.

I also believe they took Brave away from the original director (a woman) and gave it to a man.

Pixar = boys club.

It was originally going to be The Princess and the Bear.
