I feel like articles like this are reasons why PeTA thought it was totes coolio to compare Holocaust victims and slaves to cows.

I don't think anyone is comparing how humans and animals experience these things, nor should they, but I can't see how people wouldn't see a parallell between the systematic killing and yes, enslavement of sentient creatures.

The fact that you can't see how dehumanizing this article is worries me to no end.

And so what is to be gained from an acknowledgment of this supposed parallel if you're willing to set aside the victim's experience?

That while animals and humans experience suffering differently, animals still feel pain and do not deserve abuse.

I still see no reasoning to necessitate the woman and animal parallel.

Because the experience of female animals is distinct from the experience of male animals due to their reproductive ability, and while the experiences of female-bodied humans are not nearly this simple there are still parallels.

You can find parallels within most issues. That doesn't mean they should be put forth side-by-side for purposes of activism.

The only reasoning you've supplied so far is that female animals are different from male animals, and that -- being mammals -- human and animal bodies can have reproductive similarities. Both of these are damn weak parallels to justify piggy-backing, let alone a statement that implies an inextricable link. How can you use purely physical justifications and expect women not to think you have reduced their experiences and worth to their body parts?

I'm sorry, that's what I've most often seen used in feminist & queer circles, if you know what I'm trying to get at can you suggest a better term?

it appears that you're pretty ignorant, so maybe you shouldn't be so quick to play the "i'm trans too and i know it's totes not transphobic!" card.
