Ugh. I know this isn't the intended discussion but reading about how some 18 year old wants plastic surgery after having a baby just makes me feel so blah about my own body. I couldn't even finish reading the article
What kind of fucked up culture do we live in that makes someone feel like this at 18? (Nevermind at 37...)
I mean, this post *is* meant to highlight how ridiculous beauty standards are, no? And how "GET UR PREBABBY BODDEE BAK NAO" is so pervasive in advertising? And an 18 year old caved? So it kinda does tie in to clafount's own body image feelings/ideas, no?
Heh. I actually agree with shemale after thinking about it. I mean, when I read it all I could think about was my own imperfect body after giving birth, and how much more harshly MY body would be judged by someone/people than this person's.
But this woman choosing plastic surgery doesn't have anything to do with me and my body. It has everything to do with her own body, and questioning her decision is just another example of policing women's bodies, which is just gross.
True. I didn't get that from your comment though. Like, I didn't think you were judging her choice from reading your comment, I thought it was just your own perspective on your experience having a kid.
