HALP!!! I NEEDS A BETA!!!!!
So. For some unfathomable and incomprehensible reason, I decided to sign up for scifibigbang .
Yeah.
And I really, really, really need a beta. I've always flown without one before, because nothing I wrote involved actual, yanno, plot. (It was either fluff or porn. Often both.) But this has plot. It has lots of plot, in fact.
Funny enough, it's not really a DS9 fic, not in the strictest sense of the word. It's about a Nebula-class starship, the USS Providence, which is sent to investigate Voyager's disappearance but is subsequently recalled from the Badlands as the conflict with the Dominion begins to heat up. Kira Nerys is a supporting character, Dr Katherine Pulaski and Admiral Alynna Nechayev show up a few times, and my protagonist spends a bit of time on DS9, seeing as how the Providence is stationed in that area of space, which is why I'm here - Niners are the most likely to be up to speed on the Dominion War etc.
Except it's also a love story. Oh, incidentally, it's a fusion fic, with my other favorite fandom - the BBC's The Inspector Lynley Mysteries. Basically I'm taking my favorite pairing of all time, grabbing a few Lynley supporting characters to take along for the ride, and saying, "What would happen if I took Tommy Lynley and Barbara Havers, put them on a warp-capable, highly advanced starship, and chucked them into the fray against the Dominion"? (The answer, I'm hoping, is 'complete awesome', but I'll need help for that.)
