There's trouble brewing on the set of the new Sherlock Holmes film -- luckily RumorFix is on the case. And yes, we know that opening line is lame -- just as lame as a rumor in the National Enquirer's February 7 issue.
According to the tabloid, Sherlock Holmes 2 stars Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. are having a quarrel over -- of all people -- Mel Gibson!
"Robert and Mel talk nearly every day, and Jude just can't get his head around it," a source tells the Enquirer.
"He thinks what Mel did to Oksana was appalling, and he doesn't think Hollywood should be supporting someone who's behaved that way."
"Jude thinks [Mel's] been given enough chances, and it annoys him that Robert has allegiances to him."
The source goes on to tell the Enquirer that Robert and Jude hardly speak to one another on set because of the drama over Mel.
We asked Robert's rep about the rumored feud and he responded by asking us "Which award winning news outlet made this one up?" After being told that our buddies at the tabloid printed the story, the rep went ahead and cleared things up by joking:
"Robert and Jude are still sleeping together. Sorry to disappoint the Enquirer"
