not completely comic news, but....
In reading an article via WIRED.com through the magic of ontd_startrek, I discovered something about Spocktacular actor, Zachary Quinto. First off, in the article it states the actor would like to take a break from the Trek franchise and fandom, which is a pity - though given his role in Heroes, it may be refreshing to see him expand his horizons. But, my real point in posting this here is the following excerpt about his production company (which he owns with some friends and colleagues):
Quinto isn’t abandoning geekdom entirely. Before the Door, a production company he founded with friends and collaborators, aims to develop television shows, websites and several comic books for publisher Archaia. Quinto says properties he’s helping produce as graphic novels “could be really interesting as games.”

EDIT: From the maw of Quinto himself, he is not stepping away from the Trek sequel that is planned for 2012 - his point is that that film is in 2 years. He posted a clarification himself, here.
