TORONTO - "SCTV" alumna Andrea Martin and Canadian theatre star Louise Pitre have joined the cast of the upcoming Toronto production of "Love, Loss, and What I Wore."

Producers say actresses Wendy Crewson, Cynthia Dale, Paula Brancati and Lauren Collins will also be in the homegrown version of the play that has featured some big names off-Broadway.

"Love, Loss, and What I Wore" is based on the book by Ilene Beckerman and on a collection of stories by screenwriters Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron.

Since the show opened last October in New York, it has featured stars including Rosie O'Donnell, Kristin Chenoweth, Jane Lynch, Samantha Bee, Rhea Perlman, Carol Kane and Brooke Shields.

A Los Angeles production also opened last month.

The Toronto show, which kicks off July 16 at the Panasonic Theatre, will feature a cast of five that will rotate in four-week cycles.

Brancati, Martin and Pitre will be in the premiere cast July 16 through to Aug. 7. Collins, Crewson and Dale will join the cycle that runs Aug. 10 to Sept. 4.

Karen Carpenter, who directed the New York production, will also helm the Toronto play.
