Die Mannequin play a brand of in-your-face, punky sleaze-rock, so it's entirely appropriate they'll star in Hard Core Logo 2.
Shooting for the film, which is the sequel to 1996's Hard Core Logo, begins Monday (Feb. 22) in rural Saskatchewan, according to CBC News. The network reports Die Mannequin singer/guitarist Care Failure's character is apparently "inspired by a dead rocker," though not much else is known about her role so far.
Former Headstones frontman Hugh Dillon (Flashpoint) returns as Joe Dick, even though he shot himself at the end of Hard Core Logo. Um, sorry for the spoiler. (We aren't sure how he's still alive in the sequel, even though Dillon has a minor role, but we're sure director Bruce McDonald has figured out something awesome.)
Julian Richings will also once again play Bucky Haight, Dick's rock star idol.
Little is known about Hard Core Logo 2's plot, other than it centres on Dick and Haight's relationship, according to Dose.ca.
There are reportedly plans for two more sequels, according to Dose.ca, including one about the characters' teenage daughters in the same vein as The Breakfast Club and Rock 'N' Roll High School. Dillon will star in all three sequels, according to the website.
Die Mannequin's Fino + Bleed debut album came out last year.
