Haley explains what happened with her single:
Yeah…so remember when Haley Reinhart’s parents said she’d be singing an original song on the American Idol finale? Haley explains to the Hollywood Reporter why it didn’t happen:
THR: Lauren’s situation aside, there was talk of you singing an original song on Wednesday’s show, as your parents revealed at a concert in Wheeling, IL…
Reinhart: That was going to happen. And then Bono
came in and it was taken away.
THR: So you have a single?
Reinhart: Probably not now, but it was an option when I was let go. They had said that it was going to happen, and like everything else in this business, it’s all subject to change. I was excited about it, but then again, I think I’d like to wait and come up with something that’s very me. Everything happens for a reason, so it’s all good.
THR: Are you an Interscope artist now?
Reinhart: No, not as of yet, but there’s time. I’m very, very eager to see what happens.
I can’t see why they can’t release the single anyway? Maybe as promotion for the tour? TPTB truly seem to be flying by the seats of their pants, don’t they?

Scotty and Lauren to be presenters at the CMT Awards and to be at the City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge:
UPDATE: Scotty and Lauren have been added as presenters to the CMT Music Awards airing on CMT June 8 at 8 pm.
Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina have been added to the line-up of the City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge.
The star-studded lineup also includes Brett Eldredge, Chuck Wicks, David Nail, Dierks Bentley, Jake Owen,J ames Wesley, Jaron and the Long Road to Love, Joe Nichols, Kerry Collins (of theTennesseeTitans), LoCash Cowboys, Point of Grace, Robin Meade, and Vince Gill.

The yearly challenge raises funds to aid cancer research
at the City of Hope cancer research center in Los Angeles. Check out this video from last year’s game, featuring Carrie Underwood and her then-fiance Mike Fisher.
Scotty and Lauren both told reporters last week that they will be appearing at the CMA Music Fest, so expect announcements about that soon. I could see the two of them making their debut at the Orpy that week.
