Kris Allen - Atlanta, GA - 10-26-2010
So, I just spent an entire week on the road, okay, well four days but still and in those four days I saw Kris Allen twice, here is my part one of a two part review.

“The Curse of Kris Allen” October 25-28th, 2010
Part One
10/25-26/10 Atlanta, GA
So, if you remember after our last Kris Allen show in Florida , Samantha's poor jeep was almost on its last life. For these TWO SHOWS we wised up and Sam and her mother bought a new car. Yes, that's right folks, they bought a new car b/c its just not safe for us to travel to see Kris in their jeep. Granted, it was a new used car, but still, you see where I'm going with this right?
Anyway, new car, me and Samantha, Kris Allen but first we made a pit stop around 1 on Monday in Nashville to pick up our bestie, Amanda, at Starbucks. If you follow me and these concert posts then you know its not a Kris Allen show for us unless we see “blue lights” in the rear view mirror. *sigh* Yeah, we got pulled over b/c the temp tags on the car had flown off. Which, of course they had, lol. But luckily, the cop was very nice and sent us on our way just telling us to be careful. We spent about an hour walking around downtown looking for present for the boys, which we finally found right as Steven Tyler was walking passed us, yep, that Steven Tyler, lol. Then we hop in the car and head on our way. After getting LOST in Nashville, and y'all, we have a freaking GPS, we were on our way to Atlanta to check into our hotel.
Oh, before I go on, funny little tid-bit here, when we got into the car after getting the boys gifts, I sat down and said, “Oh my god, I'm so hot!” and the air in the car came on. Now, what you all need to know is, the keys to the car were in SAM'S HAND! o.O She's hadn't even had time to start the car yet, lmao. Only us would things like this happen to. I swear. Lol. Anyway.........
Nothing too major or important happened on the way to Atlanta, not that I remember anyway. It was a quick and safe trip. Well, as safe as a person can be when the other two drivers in the car don't like it when those big semi-trucks pass them at 80+ miles an hour and they think, “oh, hell no” and decide to floor it and pass those trucks right back. But you know, no biggie. -holds on for dear life-
So we get to Atlanta and check into our hotel just in time, because we apparently have the only hotel in the world where the front desk closes at night, IDK. But we spent Monday night in our room, watching movies on the laptop, eating junk food and laughing our asses off at each other for no actual reason. Just three girls hanging out, having fun. We made it through 'Shelter' before we all kinda passed out half way through 'Latter Days', lol.
Tuesday for us started bright an early, thanks to Cheeks who posted his new music video, so we were up an hour before we actually needed to be. But whatever, it gave us extra time to get ready. By 11 o'clock we were checked out of the hotel and on our way to the venue where Kris was playing.
Know this...we spent all day long talking on and off to a guy covered in tattoos w/ multi-colored hair. You'll need to know this for future reference. ;)
Does it surprise anyone that we beat Kris and the band to the venue? I mean, really? It shouldn't. There was one other lady there, who we think was there for Lifehouse, so technically, we were the first ones there for Kris, woo!! Basically, from 11 to around 1:30 we sat on the steps in front of where the buses were going to park and talked. We joked and laughed and listened to some music and watched as the buses finally pulled in. Then we started tweeting Kris and the boys about FOOD! B/c seriously, we were hungry and there was a Chick-Fil-A two blocks from where we were sitting, lol.
After tweeting Kris and the boys about it we left to go get us some food. In the five minutes it took us to get there, the ten or so to order and another five to walk back, Kris and Cale were standing outside of the bus, doing something, IDK what, when we walked back up. They said hey, we said hey back and here's when it gets HILARIOUS.....I don't know why Sam sat her drink down on the car but she did and y'all, the wind was howling that day. Now what you need to know is Kris and Cale had a perfect view of us and our car so when the wind picked up real quick and blew Sam's Sprite off the car and onto her, Kris Allen ladies and gents, started laughing his ass off at her!! Oh, Amanda and I did too, of course but nothing tops Kris and his reaction to that, nothing!!
To keep the ball rolling I had been telling Amanda for weeks that Kris would literally sneak up on her, cause he's a freaking ninja like that! Poor girl didn't know what to do when we were all still laughing over the Sprite thing and hello, Kris Allen along w/ Cale, Andrew and Ryland all literally walk up behind Sam and Amanda not five minutes later! I think she was kinda...star struck, maybe? It was cute! Lol. Anyway, Kris had the nerve to look at me and ask where his Chick-Fil-A was. I told him that I'd tweeted him ten or so minutes ago asking if he wanted anything brought back. His response, “I just got up and haven't checked twitter yet,” and guys, it was two in the afternoon, lol.
I spoke to Cale for a minute and asked him how he was, cause woo lordy, he was looking nice. He said fine and asked how I was. All the while, I'm not even sure if Amanda or Sam spoke to them b/c I was kinda in my own little world w/ them at the time, haha. But they left to go get something to eat themselves and we, well, we fangirled just a little. ;)
Fast forward a little and Amanda gets her camera stolen by one homeless man while another distracted us by asking us for money. o.O And I got hit on by a man who in one breath told me I was pretty and said he'd just gotten out of jail. It was freaky and kinda scary.
Anyway, enough w/ the before, let's get to the actual show part of this concert write up!!
Our Kris Allen / Lifehouse concert experience started w/ about 20 of us all getting in to watch Lifehouse sound check and then have a meet and greet w/ them. O.O It was kinda awesome! We all got our pictures taken w/ them and then we got an autographed picture of the whole band. Nice.
Not that it should surprise anyone but we, of course, got front row for the night, on Cale's side b/c Sam insisted on it, lol. When the lights went down and the show finally started, Alyssa being the first opener, can I just tell you how shocked I was when the cute guy w/ the tattoos and multi-colored hair walked onto the stage and um, PICKED UP THE BASS. o.O Sam and Amanda both turned to look at me b/c as you should know by now, I have a weakness for bass players. Woo! ;)
Alyssa was awesome, as was her band! And I was determined to meet this pretty bass player after the show!!
Anyway, it was finally time for Kris and I swear, I thought poor little Amanda was going to explode she was bouncing and squeeing, haha, but it was epic!! Its just the kinda of reaction everyone should have their first time seeing Kris.
They opened w/ “Written All Over My Face” and, ya know, how about I just give you the whole set list, since I probably will anyway at some point...and moved on to “Can't Stay Away”, “Red Guitar”, Alright With Me”, “Everybody Wants To Rule the World”, “Is It Over”, “Live Like We're Dying” and finally “Come Together” where during this song Kris decides he'd like to jump OFF of the stage and down into the audience. Luckily there was a barrier or not, b/c I suddenly got slammed into it..got the bruises to show it..and walk all the way down slapping hands while still singing. Now for me, I've met Kris numerous times, had lunch w/ him, so I'm not a screaming fangirl who will die unless he slaps my hand. Apparently for Kris though, he doesn't care b/c when he got to me and saw that I wasn't holding my hands out for him he stopped, cocked his head to the side, raised one eyebrow and waited UNTIL I held my hand out. He of course started laughing when I put my hand out for him to slap but he nodded his head at me like he approved. =P Only Kris Allen.
Between the three of us, we got around 400+ pix just from Kris opening, haha. But left as soon as the boys set was over. We dashed outside, after finding a bathroom to wait in front of the buses b/c Cale knew we'd be there, after their set, waiting.
Anyway, of course this would happen to me but at the exact moment my new pretty bass player comes walking off of his bus, Kristopher comes walking off of his and god help me, but I stop, look at Kris then the new bass player before looking back at Kris and saying, “Wait just a minute, Kris,” before to turn and just start gushing, yes gushing over Austin, as I soon find out his name is.
While I'm going on and on w/ Austin about how awesome he is, Kris just stands there, watching me as I flail over my new love before I finally tell Austin I need a pic w/ him. So Austin, being as epically awesome as he is, HANDS KRIS HIS CIGARETTE TO HOLD while we do our pic thing. Kris, holding a cigarette, is more awkward than you could ever imagine. =P
Then, Austin wanting to repay the favor, takes a couple of group pix for us w/ Kris. We got two really epic pictures w/ Kris, haha. Once Austin left we stood, just the three of us and chatted w/ Kris. He asked us how we liked the show, then asked why we weren't inside watching Lifehouse. I told him it was b/c we saw who we came to see. He just smiled that bashful smile of his. Then Sam and I gave him a tee-shirt we'd made for him and I swear, I almost think Kris was a split second away from having us committed, haha, but hey, who else but us would make him a Kreith shirt w/ the words “I Want Keith Urban to Be My Daddy” on it w/ a huge pic of Keith? Us, that's who! Then he tells us what Kreith sounds like a dirty word. I laughed and told him to take it as he pleased. ;)
On and off for two and a half hours we stood outside at the buses waiting for the boys. We had conversations w/ all five of them, some more than others on and off for those two and a half hours. They all seemed to really love their shirts, Ryland promising to wear his and Andrew saying his was just perfect! When we finally gave Cale his, oh this man, he loved it! -pix at the bottom of the page- But he was soo shocked that we'd gotten him something!! He even told me at one point that we didn't need to buy him gifts that he should actually be buying us presents, haha. I told him he should feel free to do so. =P
At one point, when Kris was out in his little “jogging outfit” I asked him to come back over to where I was at b/c I had forgotten to show him my 'truth' tattoo. He looked at me, looked down at his bare feet then said, “I can't find my shoes,” and y'all, I nearly died b/c he sounded like such a little boy here but he did come over to me and I showed him my tattoo, which he said he loved. I explained that “The Truth” was my favorite song of his and that since there was no way I would be tattooing a pink elephant on me anywhere, the Japanese symbol for 'truth' seemed like the next best thing. Kris agreed. I then told him I was sad b/c he hadn't sung my song that night and god love him, he apologized and promised to sing it for me in Memphis. Again, I died here. =P
Kristopher also informed me that he and Torres have been talking about getting tattoos themselves lately. I insisted they do. B/c really, it would be epic. I told him as much and he grinned before saying, “Its just that they're so......permanent.” I laughed and said that yes, they were. Lol.
All in all, our Atlanta Kris Allen experience was amazing, minus a couple of set backs. And even as I write this I know I've forgotten things but I'm sure Sam and Amanda will fill in all the blanks for us, thankfully. I did let all the boys know we'd see them in Memphis and they all seemed not surprised, w/ Kris even saying, “Well, yeah, its a TN show so of course you'll be there.” like he knows us soo well. Haha.
