“If it weren’t for Idol, I have strong doubts that I would have ever been signed to a record label,” Lambert tells Beatweek of his second-place finish on Idol’s previous season. “I just think I was a little too left of center for a typical record executive to probably look at it and go, ‘Oh, that guy, let’s hire him.’”
Lambert also discusses why he chose For Your Entertainment’s title track for his lead single even though he knew second single Whataya Want From Me was likely to be a bigger hit, his role in crafting his new “Remixes” EP which will hit iTunes on Tuesday, and more details about his upcoming summer tour which will span the United States. The April 14th issue of Beatweek Magazine with Adam Lambert on the cover will be available in digital format, for free, on Tuesday April 13th.
