New York, NY, December 15, 2009 - MSG Network announced today that the premiere of "Road to MSG: Z100's Jingle Ball Concert 2009," will premiere Friday, December 18 at 11:00 p.m. The show goes past the pulse-pounding experience of watching a concert inside Madison Square Garden and takes fans behind the scenes with some of the brightest stars in the music industry.
For the second straight year, MSG's cameras will get an exclusive look at performers such as Taylor Swift, John Mayer, The Fray, Justin Bieber, Boys Like Girls and actress/singer Leighton Meester, just to name a few, as they prepare for their turn on the stage inside The World's Most Famous Arena.
The cameras were there to pick up every moment leading up to the big show including sound checks, stars joking around with each other backstage and performers spending time in and around The Garden as well as other exciting moments before the lights started flashing and the fans started screaming.
The half-hour program also includes backstage interviews with the performers on topics ranging from their reactions to hearing one of their songs played over the airwaves, to what they have planned for their New Year's resolutions.
And, as if the broadcast weren't enough, the "Road to MSG" takes viewers on a long trip down the information superhighway to MSG.com/jingleball, where fans can check out exclusive interviews, slide shows and other backstage moments from the rocking holiday concert.
In one of the many exclusive interviews, crossover country star Taylor Swift describes the thrill of hearing her music on New York's hit music station. "To be driving around in New York and to hear my song come on Z100 ... that's a dream come true."
"Nobody can provide this kind of backstage access like we can," said Dan Ronayne, Executive Vice President and General Manager of MSG Networks. "Our fans will have an intimate look at how a massive production like this comes together."
