Here's the first part of my concert experience post. I'll post my pictures and videos in another one. I need to figure out how to post thumbnails or something because I have a lot of pics for you guys and they are kinda big. I have partial vid of Heartless, ATTTID, and all of Bright Lights.
I knew that the WBC was supposed to be at the concert so I drove by the venue on my way to meet
tahsha13 before we carpooled to save on parking. I didn’t see any protesters outside the venue (I may just have missed them though, I’m not sure.) When we both arrived back at the venue we did spot them across the street from the Sprint Center. It annoyed me and I truly despise them, but I was in too good of a mood already so they didn’t bring me down. Living in KC, we’re, unfortunately, used to their bullshit so they are almost a form of entertainment. We laugh at their ridiculousness and don’t let them get to us. Sometimes people putting on controversial shows will anonymously email the WBC just so they will come protest and give the show more publicity.
Anyway, onto the concert,
tahsha13 and I had floor seats so we made out way down to the 6th row. OMG We were so fucking close. The stage looked so much smaller in person and it was so surreal finally being there after watching /listening to so many performances. We sat through the previous contestant videos. Really, it was like 3 Carrie Underwood vids, a Daughtry vid, and a David Cook vid that played on repeat. It was really annoying if you ask me. A little variety would have been nice or I don’t know vids of the season 8 top 10 performances from the show. Those are the people we are here to see, not Carrie Underwood.
Sarver: I didn’t like Sarver on the show, but I’ve grown to really like him in the Comm. I really love the Gavin DeGraw song and I really love Michael’s performance of it. I also really liked his other song. It definitely was a great way to start the show.
Megan: Megan had her fro but it was pulled up into the faux-hawk thing, which looked fucking fierce. Her performance was really great too. I’ve heard earlier tour performances of hers and didn’t really think she was doing that great even though I liked her on the show. She has definitely stepped it up since Idol.
Scott: Scott also did better than he did on the show. He did tell some blind jokes and impersonate Simon, but they were the same ones that he’s been doing. I’m not really a Scott music fan, but he was okay.
Side Note: During “A Thousand Miles” the adorable gay couple in front of us were even cuter. One of the guys was singing along and looking into the other’s eyes. They were so fucking cute. They were holding hands and had their arms around each other a lot, kissing every once in awhile.
Lil: Honestly, I always forget about Lil. She really annoyed me on the show, but she also really stepped it up for the tour. She was rocking some fierce sparkly platform heels.
Anoop: Anoop was awesome. I hadn’t really listened to his tour songs yet except for “My Prerogative.” He was looking hot. I totally get it now, Anoop stans. I definitely became more of an Anoop stan last night.
Matt: I love the song “Hard to Handle” so I was really excited that he was going to sing it. He came out and started rocking it. He also added in some hip action that I didn’t remember hearing about before, maybe, I sarvered it, I don’t know. Georgia made me a little sad (Damn you, Astolat!!! LOL), but it was really awesome to hear live.
Medley: I really liked the medley, although I was sad that Anoop and Matt didn’t take off their jackets like I was expecting. There was some cute Megan/Lil interaction. I so want to ship them, ngl. That’d be totally hot. The first half went by so fast.
Intermission: Intermission was uneventful, of course, but we did try to look out for Glamberts. We didn’t really see any crazies, but we definitely saw cougars. Also, during intermission, they played this video on the AI Experience at DisneyWorld. The Idols were making cheesy commentary about the experience thing. The contestant that was in the finals was named Kyle and then they showed Adam making commentary again. I shit you not he happily cheered, “Go Kyle!” and I couldn’t stop laughing.
Allison: Allison was amazing. I know a lot of people say it, but she does not sound 17. Holy shit, has she got a voice. Her mic was off at the very start of “So What” but they fixed it quickly. She is very hard to photograph during “Cry Baby” and “Barracuda.” It was like trying to take a picture of some sort of animal. She moved so much so a lot of my pics of her are of her twirling her hair or the back of her. When she was talking about the top 3, something happened that made her crack up, but I missed what it was. It was really cute though.
Danny: Okay, I’ve never been a Danny fan. I really just don’t like his music. He has a good voice, but I really don’t see him as an “artist” I did take pictures for Vertical and Devon_Carrots and any other hidden Danny stans. I missed half of his set (on purpose), but I just couldn’t take the Rascal Flatts songs and the sermon so we took our bathroom break before Kradam since intermission would have been packed.
Adam: Adam was fan-fucking-tastic, but you guys already know that. His hair was looking fucking hot. He is so fucking gorgeous in person. He sang “woman” during WLL, I was hoping for “baby” but oh well it was still fucking hot. Starlight is so enchanting live, OMG. Mad World held a lot more meaning with the fucktards outside, and “nervous,” guh; I love that part. Slow Ride was so fucking awesome live. They rocked it so hard. There was this one part where Adam had his arm around Allison and they were dancing side to side, it was so cute, but my camera decided to hate me so I couldn’t get the shot. At the end when they go in for their hug, Allison went low and it looked like she might try to do one of those hugs where you pick up the other person, but she didn’t. Then came Bowie, which made me sad for a second because that meant Adam was almost done. Bowie was amazing and then off came his jacket and UNF. Adam’s arms, holy shit, hot. Anyone who calls Adam fat or chubby even needs new eyes, he seriously is looking hella skinny, but healthy skinny. The dancing, of course, was UNF-tacular. He didn’t play with anything on stage, even though I guess there were some things thrown. I didn’t see them, but I’m short so it’s not easy for me to miss things.
Kris: Kris. Holy fucking UNF. The a cappella part at the beginning of Heartless had me just staring at the sexy. This also was part of the reason that I didn’t start recording until just after this part. I did record most of it though. ATTTID was so hot, his lower register just kills me. I was recording it, but my memory card got full after a few seconds so I had to stop to switch memory cards and didn’t record the rest. Again, Ain’t No Sunshine has always been a favorite song of mine, and how Kris sings it is just swoon-worthy. The curtain had a problem coming down for Bright Lights and some guys ran behind it hitting at it, which was kinda funny. I recorded all of Bright Lights so I got lots of piano humping, especially when the lights were low, and mic blowing action. Bright Lights, again, with the lower register, just killed me. Hey Jude and all Kris’ little jumping around is so fucking cute. I love that fucking yell he does and the “Judey Judey Judey” part. When the others came out, Adam did this blowjob side to side movement with his mic and I got a really cute Kradam pic. They are smiling so hard at each other.
Side Note: There were some people around us that sat down for Kris and Allison that I think were Danny fans. I don’t get it people. I stood up for everybody. I may not like Danny, but I still stood up for him and even danced along a little to PYT. You can at least stand up for people. You don’t have to cheer or sing along, but you can stand, especially if you are on the floor.
DSB: DSB was pretty much how it always is. When Kradam came up, Kris did tug on his shirt. Kris and Adam, of course, stared at each other periodically. Kris, bb, you are so obvious. It was even more obvious seeing him stare at Adam in person. There wasn’t any new Kradam, but it was still cute as hell. They did one of the little dances that they do. Adam and Danny did a little dance before Kradam did theirs, which was actually really cute too, ngl. I think there was a Kratt moment at the end when they were exiting the stage. Megan and Allison walked off with their arms around each other, which was really cute.
Barricades: We went out to the barricades, but not right away so we weren’t like up against them or anything. We saw some Glamberts and laughed. Seriously, seriously, what are they thinking. I got a picture of Anoop, Kris, and Matt.
tahsha13 got a pic of Allison and some others. Allison was so tiny and so I am I so it was impossible for me to get a shot, myself. When Danny came by, I am pretty sure that he looked right at me and smiled. I don’t know how to feel about that. (I do have red hair, and I think we have talked about his affinity for redheads before, so IDK), We ran into the adorable gay couple that sat in front of us at the barricades. They were just so cute, you guys. We also saw BRADAM, no seriously, we did. We saw tis guy who was seriously a combination of Brad/Adam. This guy looked, acted, sounded just like Brad, but he had Adam’s haircut. It was totally creepy how much he resembled Brad so we ninja’ed a pic for you guys. There were so many adorable kids out there waiting to see their idols. It was really cute. Adam didn’t come out, but we had already figure it was like a 30/70 chance that he would be out there. He left in a car to the airport since he had a photoshoot in L.A. on Monday. There were some people who were disappointed, but I didn’t see any “angry” people. There were some people including Bradam who did some fake theatrics about it, which was hilarious. I think that pretty much covers everything.
Side Note:
tahsha13 You fucking rock, girl and we best be hanging out again. I had a blast going with you. Now, I really want ONTD_AI to get that beach house so we can meet up because there are some fucking rocking benches here and we really need to have some meet ups. They would be awesome and crazy and fucking amazing.
