Gokey gets a record deal

After months of “nothing to report,” Danny Gokey, the sexy soulster from American Idol, has finally gotten signed with the United States-based major record label Sony Music Nashville. “He is very thrilled,” an Idol rep tells us in the superstar's stead, “and he wants to thank his fans for believing in him.” They did more than believe in him, some followed him across the country. “I think he's wonderful.” Rebeca Coloma, 23, bashfully admits while ducking her head into her GOKEY GANG MEMBER emblazoned T-shirt “I flew out to New York to see him.”
What kind of album can we expect from the stylishly bespectacled singer? “Country music kind of houses the message that I like, and I can still talk about the things in my music that still goes on in that genre,” Gokey said in a previous interview. “And it carries a lot of meaning for me. So I never thought about it before, but I could see myself doing it, if we could just get the twang right.” And apparently, he did. The twang is just about right.
