Why would it have held more weight? They've both stated what a big influence MJ was. And both performed songs of his on Idol before Michael Jackson week. Kris in the Semis and Adam at his audition.

For me it would because Kris is the one I associate with Michael Jackson. I remember him talking about what an influence MJ was to him, I don't remember Adam saying anything like that. Maybe he has, he's just not the first Idol that comes to mind when I think about MJ.

Adam mentioned MJ several times when asked about his influences throughout Idol, along with Madonna, David Bowie, etc.

I never said he didn't, I just said I didn't remember it. I'm sure he was influenced by MJ, most musicians his age are. I'm not saying what he said wasn't meaningful or whatever, just that it doesn't really interest me personally that much.

Kris didn't even list Michael Jackson as one of his favourite male artists on the official site. Adam does. Adam also has far more in common with Jackson as an entertainer than Kris does and no, I don't mean AL is the next MJ.

I think he was a great choice for the magazine.

Personal opinion. I'm sure plenty disagree. Of course people who are big Adam fans wanna hear what he has to say. I'd rather hear what Kris has to say but whatever, I'm not the one picking who gets to write it and I'm sure Adam is a bigger draw for readers.
