Ok, so I know that I have written before about my bro-crush on Obama, but after the narrow defeat in the Texas primary and the new tide of Hill-Dog fans, I was preparing to back away from all of the political bullshit to stop from getting disappointed if Obama doesn't end up winning it all.
But then I watched his 40 minute race speech that he delivered Tuesday.
And after that speech, I am going to be seriously ticked off if he doesn't win. I don't care about experience. I don't care about minor differences in health care plans. I don't care about connections with the Washington elite.
What I do care about is how fucking shocked I was to see a presidential candidate respond to a pr crisis by thoughtfully, methodically, and compellingly explaining all of the nuances of racial tension in America without the use of truisms or sound bites. In fact, I have never seen a politician talk about any issue as clearly and compellingly as he did.
After 8 years of a president who lies every fucking day, who lies to the point that nobody even cares anymore when he lies and panders again, I think this country really fucking needs somebody who responds to crises by discussing them openly and incisively.
