WHEN: Shortly after
this phone call.
It was once upon a time a strong compound, populated by a large family, guests, servants, doctors and strange experiments. The mansion flourished beautifully and it seemed impregnable, untouched by the influence of the outside world. Yet things went back when the Di Luca family crossed paths with something they could not handle. Vescovo. They came and they slaughtered every last individual in the family to keep their secrets hidden. The bodies littered the hallways and they left no one in the house alive. They took the Don and his wife, but left behind the chaos for the CSI teams to clean up. And because of all the destruction, all the blood, the massacre that took place there, the mansion was condemned to never be filled with life again.
That was how the story went, but there was one unknown factor. Though Vescovo slaughtered every last person within the compound, they did not think to check for those that may have escaped. One little girl got away and ran all night, then in the morning she started her new life in the outside world. She was one of their strongest weapons, half of a pair of twins they tortured and dubbed as the N.A.O.E. experiment. The twins were cursed with unbelievable abilities, but the boy, the smarter of the two, learned to control them. The girl, on the other hand, did not show the same potential as her counterpart, so she was torn apart and rebuilt, dissected then put back together. They put her under shock therapy to accelerate her mind, and then was electrocuted to see how much her body could take. They created a monster with hatred for those who hurt her, lacking emotions, a living weapon only built to destroy. Because when she finally could bend her mind to do what the experiment intended, she had next to no control and it only manifested in the worst luck imaginable. And that mixed with the insanity they had caused from their torture created a terrible thing.
For nearly a decade, the living weapon worked for a family, as an assassin, showing no mercy to those she did not care about. In that time, she made few friends and showed anger toward everything else. Regression played a major part in that. When an emotion came about that she could not deal with, she acted as a child and the monster in her fought to take control. Up and down she would swear she was not human, swear that she could not love and only hated... and such was the case right now. Yet the thing she was fighting just happened to be love. The thing pushing her mind further and further in regression was her telling herself she had no conscience, telling herself that she cared for no one. But that was not the case. She loved... and it hurt more than anything the experimentation had ever done to her body.
With her hands clasped tightly over her head, the girl screamed. Tears streaked down her face as she tried to stop herself, as she tried to calm, but every part of her mind was screeching at her in a full force emotion. The aging, untended courtyard of the Di Luca compound was now a deadly cyclone of electromagnetic energy, only causing disaster. The windows were all shattered that lined the courtyard, the doors had all been blown off their hinges and one of the walls was caved in. The old metal shed, once rusting but still functional, was now nothing more than a crushed aluminum can. And she was the epicenter of this chaos, kneeling in front of the grave she had made for her brother. That was safe along with the locked chest next to it. Being there, she was trying to seek comfort in the engraved letters of the name she knew her brother by: N.A.O.E. But now she was just trying to control herself, not able to do it alone. In the whirling disaster, she screamed out, "NAOE!" and sobbed harder. In her lap was her phone, still opened from the last call. The only things not being destroyed were that immediately around her. But that soon may change, for as she clutched her head, shaking, screaming, her ears and nose oozed out a thick blood.
