After their phone call the previous night Ritsuka was feeling more comfortable with Soubi as a person as opposed to Soubi the name. They had even spoken in Japanese which is somethng Ritsuka hadn't done since Seimei's death. For him, the language had died with Seimei and to hear it spoken after all these years meant more to him than he was willing to admit. This man had made it clear that there was a side of Seimei Ritsuka had never known, but that only made his connection to Soubi even more important. He still didn't understand why Soubi had been left to him in a will and that was just one more question to wrack his brain at night.

So it was that he arrived at the front door of the apartment seconds before noon. He pressed the buzzer, then stepped back and waited for an answer. His tail flicked anxiously and though there was a nervous twist in his stomach he waited eagerly for the response.

The room Soubi had spoken about sounded wonderful, however, Ritsuka was still uncomfortable with the way Soubi made his money. Just another ( ... )

The man came to the door, a slight smile on his face, and gestured the way inside.

"Good morning, Ritsuka. How are you today?"

His voice was warm and light, rather like the steam rising from the coffee sitting on the meager dining room table. It was low, in the Japanese style, and beauty if not a little rough around the edges.

And the apartment was ...clean. All shining wood floors now and bright sparkling windows.

Ritsuka let Soubi usher him into the apartment, then he paused and looked around the apartment. It was different than he remembered, but he thought it might be rude to comment about it. Instead, he managed a shy smile as he went to stand beside the coffee table.

"I'm fine," his tail swished and he sneaked a look towards the hall way before turning his attention back to Soubi, "You're not wearing yourself out doing all this, are you?"

Still, he couldn't help but admire how nice the apartment looked now, which only made him even more eager to see the room Soubi had created for him. There was a part of him that was uncomfortable with the fact that this near-stranger planned a room for him already, but he was trying not to think about it.

"Good." Soubi's smile swelled and grew into a much happier expression, before he turned to look down the hallway upon seeing Ritsuka's glance in that direction.

"Would you like to see the room that I've been working on?"

He didn't acknowledge Ritsuka's question, because while he was a little tired, it was the best kind of tired: the feeling of accomplishment and knowing that he was a little closer to having Ritsuka by his side. Always.
