Perhaps he was a little harsh in his orders. Since ordering the Turks on lockdown Tseng has had time to consider the possibility. It was true that his family has consulted fortune tellers for generations. But by now it was more mere tradition than actually relying on their advice. For most of his life Tseng had been a man determined to make his own future. He did not consult coins or cards or stars.
It was something much more mundane that had caused the possible overreaction. The disappearances. That was the ill omen that had concerned him and he realized that fact now. His instinct as a leader had been first to locate his Turks. Second to secure them.
His Turks. He wondered exactly when he'd started thinking of them in such a way. In a way that was more fondness than possession. They were all so very different from himself. Different from one another. But there was an undeniable chemistry there. One that Tseng was determined to preserve. Even if it meant giving them orders they did not want.
And ones that probably weren't necessary. Tseng rarely admitted that he was wrong in words. But the phone calls to Reno and Rude letting them know that their imprisonment had been lifted counted for something. He was on his way to headquarters then to pick up Elena and drive her home. She had been ordered to stay there.
He could only hope that she hadn't blown the place up.
